Redmi unveiled two Harry Potter-themed devices in China on April 10, 2024: the Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition smartphone and the Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition tablet. The tablet was not officially identified in the launch coverage as a “Redmi Pad 3.” That wording appears to be a title-level mistake or shorthand for the Redmi Pad Pro.
Both products kept the core hardware of their respective Redmi platforms. The Harry Potter treatment focused on exterior graphics, collector packaging, accessories and themed software—especially on the phone—rather than a new processor or performance architecture. First sales were reported for April 15, 2024, with the editions positioned primarily as China-market limited releases. (Gizmochina’s launch report)
First, the model-name correction
The supplied name “Redmi Pad 3” should not be used as the verified product name. The contemporary preview and launch reports consistently described the tablet as the Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition, launched alongside the Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition.

That distinction matters for anyone searching for specifications, accessories or an imported listing. The phone was based on the China-market Redmi Turbo 3. Although the Turbo 3 later served as the China-market foundation for the globally positioned POCO F6, that relationship does not prove that the Harry Potter phone itself was released as a POCO F6 or sold globally. The limited edition should be treated as its own China-focused SKU. (Pocket Tactics’ Redmi Turbo 3 coverage)
What Redmi announced and when
Redmi announced the Wizarding World collaboration in China in early April 2024 and scheduled the unveiling for April 10. Reports placed the first sale date for both limited-edition products at April 15.
Availability was part of the launch story. TechNode reported that Redmi brand manager Wang Teng said restocks would be available on the first day of sale, suggesting that Redmi expected strong demand and that initial supply could be constrained. That does not establish a worldwide stock program; it describes the China launch context.
Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition: a collector-focused phone
The Harry Potter phone retained the underlying Redmi Turbo 3 platform. Launch reporting for the standard Turbo 3 listed the following headline specifications:
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3
- Display: 1.5K OLED panel
- Charging: 90W wired charging
The available launch material presents the Harry Potter version as a themed limited edition of that phone, not as a separate performance model. There is no evidence in the supplied reporting of a special Wizarding World processor, camera system or other core hardware platform. (Gadgets 360’s Redmi Turbo 3 launch coverage)
Wizarding World design details
Redmi used several recognizable references across the phone’s exterior. Reported details included:
- a Hogwarts emblem;
- Harry Potter branding;
- a wand-and-Lumos motif; and
- a lightning-bolt scar reference near the camera and flash area.
Additional design reporting connected the phone with the Deathly Hallows and the seven Horcruxes. These are cosmetic and collectible details rather than evidence of a different internal specification.
The packaging was part of the product
The phone’s strongest differentiator was arguably its retail presentation. Reported box contents included a Diagon Alley-inspired presentation box, a customized charger, a limited-edition protective case and a Hogwarts badge or pin.

Redmi also reportedly added Wizarding World software touches, including a Deathly Hallows boot animation, themed icons, a customized charging animation and house-themed wallpapers. That combination makes the phone more than a standard handset in a new color: it is a collector bundle built around the unboxing experience.
Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition: the larger Hogwarts-themed device
The tablet launched as the Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition. Its underlying Pad Pro platform was reported with the following specifications:
- Display: 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2
- Battery: 10,000mAh
- Charging: 33W
Some coverage of the broader Redmi Pad Pro range also listed 600 nits of brightness and optional keyboard and stylus accessories. Those details should not automatically be assumed to describe every Harry Potter bundle: buyers need to check the specific Chinese listing for the exact configuration, accessories and included items. (Gizmochina’s preview of the two editions)
A more restrained tablet treatment
The tablet’s design was less elaborate than the phone’s. Reports described a Hogwarts crest and Harry Potter branding on the rear, with the most distinctive elements appearing in the protective packaging and accessories.
The tablet was associated with a Hogwarts-admission-letter-style protective package or sleeve and a book- or magic-textbook-style cover. Those accessories give the Pad Pro a strong presentation as a themed gift, but the available evidence does not establish materially different internal hardware from the standard Redmi Pad Pro.
Phone versus tablet: what actually changed?
| Product | Underlying platform | Reported hardware | Harry Potter treatment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition | Redmi Turbo 3 | Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 1.5K OLED display, 90W charging | More elaborate phone graphics, themed software, collector packaging, case, customized charger and Hogwarts badge or pin |
| Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition | Redmi Pad Pro | 12.1-inch 2.5K 120Hz LCD, Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, 10,000mAh battery, 33W charging | Hogwarts crest and branding, plus admission-letter-style packaging or sleeve and book-style cover |
In short, the phone received the more comprehensive transformation. The tablet emphasized themed presentation and protective accessories while retaining the Pad Pro’s established hardware platform.
Availability: what international buyers need to know
The available coverage characterizes both editions as China-market or China-focused products. Notebookcheck described them as appearing to be Chinese exclusives, while Gizmochina reported import availability for the tablet through Giztop. That is different from an official launch in the United States, the United Kingdom or other international markets. (Gizmochina’s imported Pad Pro report)
Collectors searching for the imported device should compare listings for the Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition and confirm the Chinese ROM, included case, charger and Hogwarts accessories before ordering. Exact inventory on major international marketplaces can be inconsistent, so a product title alone is not proof that the listing contains the complete limited-edition bundle.

Import checklist
Before buying either device from an overseas seller, verify all of the following in writing:
- ROM and language support: confirm whether the device uses Chinese firmware and which languages are available. Do not assume that a seller-installed language change is equivalent to an official global ROM.
- Google services: establish whether the advertised software configuration includes the services and app compatibility you need. This can vary by firmware and seller.
- Network bands: compare the precise model’s supported LTE and 5G bands with your carrier. The phone’s China-market compatibility should not be inferred from the POCO F6’s international positioning.
- Warranty and returns: determine whether support is provided by Redmi/Xiaomi locally or only by the overseas seller, and who pays return shipping.
- Charger and plug: check the supplied charger’s plug type and electrical requirements. A physical adapter may be needed, and a replacement charger must support the relevant Xiaomi charging standards if fast charging is important.
- Bundle contents: confirm that the case, customized charger, badge or pin, sleeve and themed packaging are included rather than shown only in stock photography.
- Taxes and duties: calculate possible import charges before comparing the listing with a regular locally sold tablet or phone.
These risks are seller-dependent. Chinese firmware, band limitations, warranty coverage and included collectibles should not be stated as identical for every imported listing without checking that specific offer.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is this a new Redmi platform?
No. The evidence supports viewing the collaboration as two themed versions of existing Redmi platforms:
- The Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition used the Redmi Turbo 3 as its hardware base.
- The Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition used the Redmi Pad Pro as its hardware base.
The novelty was the Wizarding World design, software customization and collector packaging—not a separately documented performance architecture. Likewise, the later relationship between the Redmi Turbo 3 and POCO F6 does not authorize relabeling this limited edition as a POCO F6.

For Harry Potter fans, the value proposition is concentrated in the physical bundle and presentation. The phone offers the richer set of references, including themed animations and multiple boxed accessories. The tablet is the more understated option, with Hogwarts branding and a book- or admission-letter-inspired protective presentation.
For ordinary phone or tablet buyers, the standard models may be easier to evaluate and support, particularly outside China. The limited editions do not have documented advantages in processor performance, display technology or battery capacity beyond the underlying Turbo 3 and Pad Pro specifications reported at launch.
Fans who cannot find a reliable device listing may instead want to browse clearly labeled Harry Potter collectibles, LEGO sets, board games, books or other licensed merchandise. Those products are alternatives for Wizarding World collectors, not substitutes that should be presented as part of either Redmi bundle.
Bottom line
Redmi’s 2024 Wizarding World unveiling covered the Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition smartphone and Redmi Pad Pro Harry Potter Edition tablet—not a verified “Redmi Pad 3.” The phone received the most ambitious treatment, with Hogwarts and Harry Potter graphics, themed software, collector packaging and accessories. The tablet paired the established Pad Pro hardware with Hogwarts styling and book- or admission-letter-inspired protective accessories.

- Hands-Free Convenience: When you are shopping, walking your dog, attending the fair, walking or hiking, the CACOE mobile phone chain can free your hand to do other things
- Adjustable Wearing Options: The necklace is adjustable in length, so it offers various wearing options, like a bag over your shoulder or just let it hang like a chest bag
- Simple Installation Process: No tools are required. You just need to insert the pad through the charging hole of the fully covered phone case, then plug in your phone and connect to the lanyard. Please note that the half cover phone case is not supported
- Durable Construction: The cell phone lanyard is made of sturdy polyester. After several product tests, the sustainable fabric will not break even if you tear it strongly, ensuring your phone stays secure
- Unobstructed Charging Access: The universal cell phone chain does not block your charging hole, so you can easily charge your phone while using the product
Both were presented as China-focused limited editions. International buyers should treat imported units as seller-dependent purchases and verify firmware, languages, network bands, charger, warranty, taxes and every promised collectible before paying a premium.
