Netflix’s current U.S. title and catalog listings confirm that it is available to stream there, although a Netflix subscription and a compatible plan may be required.
Black Phone 2 streaming release timeline
| Date | Availability |
|---|---|
| October 17, 2025 | U.S. theatrical release |
| January 16, 2026 | First announced subscription-streaming launch on Peacock |
| May 16, 2026 | Reported U.S. Netflix arrival |
| August 13, 2026 | Netflix’s current U.S. listing confirms the movie is available |
The May 16 Netflix date comes from contemporaneous streaming-release coverage rather than a date-stamped Netflix announcement, so it is best described as the reported arrival date. The current Netflix listing is the stronger evidence for present availability.
Where to watch Black Phone 2 in the U.S.
Netflix
The simplest subscription-streaming option is to watch Black Phone 2 on Netflix. Search for the film in the Netflix app or website, or browse Netflix’s current horror and new-movie selections. Availability can change by country, so this answer applies specifically to the United States and should not be treated as a worldwide release schedule.

Netflix is a subscription service, not a free viewing option. If the title does not appear in your catalog, check that you are using a U.S. account, search the exact title, and confirm that your app or browser is up to date. A title can also disappear or move between services as licensing arrangements change.
Peacock: the earlier streaming window
Peacock was announced as the film’s first subscription-streaming home, beginning January 16, 2026. That launch date is part of the movie’s streaming chronology, but it does not by itself prove that the film remains in Peacock’s current catalog.
The latest U.S. availability check used for this article listed Netflix as the active subscription-streaming option and did not list an active Peacock subscription stream. Peacock’s catalog should therefore be checked directly before subscribing specifically for this movie. Do not assume that the earlier Peacock launch means Black Phone 2 is still available there.

Can you rent or buy Black Phone 2?
Yes. Viewers who do not want another streaming subscription can reportedly rent or buy Black Phone 2 digitally through Amazon Video or the Apple TV Store in the U.S. Digital rental and digital purchase are different from subscription streaming: a rental normally provides a limited viewing period, while a purchase is associated with the retailer’s digital library under that service’s terms.
Retailer pricing, rental windows, video quality, device support, and availability can change. Check the live listing before paying, and confirm whether you are selecting Rent or Buy.
Black Phone 2 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD release
Universal Pictures At Home confirms that Black Phone 2 is available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. A physical copy may make more sense than a subscription for viewers who want a permanent home-media option, collect horror films, or do not want to depend on a changing streaming catalog.

Before ordering a disc, check the format, region compatibility, seller, delivery estimate, and whether any advertised digital code is included. Those details vary by edition and retailer and should not be assumed from the title alone.

Which viewing option is best?
- Choose Netflix if you already subscribe and want the current U.S. subscription-streaming option.
- Check Peacock only as a historical or potentially changing alternative; its January launch was confirmed, but its current status requires a fresh catalog check.
- Rent digitally if you want to watch once without adding a recurring subscription.
- Buy digitally if you prefer retailer-based access and do not need a physical disc.
- Buy the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, or DVD release if you want physical ownership or a collector’s edition.
Bottom line
U.S. viewers do not need to wait for Black Phone 2 to come to streaming: it is already available on Netflix as of the latest check. The film reportedly reached Netflix on May 16, 2026, after its January 16 Peacock debut. It can also be rented or purchased digitally through Amazon Video or the Apple TV Store, while Universal’s physical release is available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Because streaming catalogs differ by country and change over time, verify the listing in your region before subscribing or renting.
