Kitty arrives determined to become “Kitty 2.0”: more disciplined, less distracted and better prepared to focus on her education. The reset does not last long. Dae remains part of her life, Yuri is back with Juliana, and Min Ho’s confession from the end of Season 1 continues to affect the group. A new roommate and new potential romantic interests add further pressure.
The season also broadens the show’s family story. Kitty investigates a letter and the identity of “Simon,” following clues connected to her late mother, Eve, and her time at KISS. That mystery gives the season a second engine beyond school romance: Kitty is trying to understand the relationships and history her mother left behind while navigating her own complicated present.
Cast and characters
Returning central characters
- Anna Cathcart as Kitty Song Covey: The youngest Song Covey sister and the show’s protagonist. Kitty returns to KISS hoping to make a more serious start, but romance, friendship, family research and school drama continue to pull her in different directions.
- Choi Min-yeong as Dae Heon Kim: Kitty’s former boyfriend. Dae stays close to the story even though their relationship has changed.
- Gia Kim as Yuri Han: Kitty’s close friend and the person Kitty developed romantic feelings for in Season 1. Yuri’s relationship with Juliana remains important in the new season.
- Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho Moon: Dae’s loyal friend and Kitty’s unexpected slow-burn romantic possibility. His Season 1 confession—that he had fallen in love with Kitty—hangs over their interactions.
- Anthony Keyvan as Quincy “Q” Shabazian: Kitty’s best friend and confidante. His own school and track-team storyline continues.
- Peter Thurnwald as Alex Finnerty: A teacher and adoptee whose search for his birth parents remains connected to Kitty’s investigation into her family history.
- Regan Aliyah as Juliana: Yuri’s girlfriend. Her return to KISS affects the living arrangement and emotional balance among Yuri, Kitty and Juliana.
New and expanded characters
- Audrey Huynh as Stella: Kitty’s new roommate. Stella initially seems friendly and has a crush on Min Ho, but she has a more consequential agenda than first appearances suggest.
- Sasha Bhasin as Praveena: A confident, worldly KISS student who becomes a possible new romantic interest for Kitty.
- Joshua Hyunho Lee as Jin: Q’s rival on the track team, adding another source of competition and friction.
- Han Bi Ryu as Eunice Kang: A student with a larger role in Season 2, including singing, dancing and performance ambitions.
- Jocelyn Shelfo as Madison Miller: A K-pop-obsessed student and the daughter of one of Yuri’s father’s business associates.
- Noah Centineo as Peter Kavinsky: The returning character from the To All the Boys films. His appearance links Kitty’s Seoul story with the wider Song Covey family and franchise history.
How Season 1 sets up the new season
Season 2 makes more sense if you remember the three major complications at the end of the first season:
- Kitty and Dae were no longer together. Their breakup changes the emotional foundation of Kitty’s life at KISS.
- Kitty had feelings for Yuri. That attraction makes the friendship group more complicated, particularly as Yuri and Juliana continue their relationship.
- Kitty was expelled. Her return is not a routine start to a new term; it is an opportunity she feels she must use more responsibly.
Min Ho’s confession is the fourth major piece of unfinished business. Season 2 explores what happens when Kitty has to deal with feelings she did not expect from someone she initially regarded very differently.

Season 2 ending explained Spoilers
Warning: this section discusses major Season 2 plot developments.
The finale brings together four of the season’s major threads: the sabotage at KISS, information hidden in Kitty’s family history, Peter Kavinsky’s return and Kitty’s changing romantic feelings.
The family investigation becomes more important as Kitty’s search into Eve’s past produces new information and leads to a surprise family reunion. Eve’s history is therefore not just background information about Kitty’s mother; it directly changes what Kitty understands about her family in the present.
The sabotage storyline is also resolved in the finale. However, the romantic ending does not follow the familiar “Kitty chooses one person” formula. The season gives significant attention to Kitty and Min Ho’s slow-burn dynamic, and Kitty’s feelings become clearer, but the story does not end with a definitive kiss or a final-couple declaration.

In practical terms, Season 2 closes important mystery and sabotage questions while deliberately leaving Kitty’s romantic future open. Min Ho’s confession still matters, but the season does not present it as a simple, final answer to Kitty’s love life.
How the series connects to To All the Boys
XO, Kitty is an official spin-off connected to Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film franchise. The wider property is inspired by Jenny Han’s books. Kitty is the younger sister of Lara Jean, the protagonist of the films, which explains the shared family and why Peter Kavinsky can appear in Kitty’s story.
Readers who want to explore the franchise’s origins can start with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before book by Jenny Han. It is important to be precise about the connection: Han’s novel is source material for the parent To All the Boys franchise, not a novelization of XO, Kitty Season 2.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Season 2 worth watching?
Season 2 is aimed at viewers who want the series to expand beyond a straightforward school romance. It keeps the relationship drama at the center, but adds a sabotage mystery, a more active family investigation and a larger ensemble of students. Kitty’s emotional uncertainty remains part of the show’s identity rather than being quickly resolved into one confirmed pairing.

It is also best approached as a continuation rather than a clean reset. Kitty’s attempt to become more focused is understandable after Season 1, but the new season deliberately carries forward the unresolved friendships, confessions and family questions that made her first semester so turbulent.
