Olympic Breaking is not live now. The Paris 2024 competitions took place at Place de la Concorde on August 9 and 10, 2024. To watch them today, start with the World DanceSport Federation’s Paris 2024 Breaking archive, which lists full replays of the B-Girls and B-Boys sessions, including the round robins and finals.
In the United States, the event originally aired on NBC and E! and streamed through Peacock and NBC’s Olympic digital platforms. Those were the 2024 broadcast arrangements, however, and Olympic streaming catalogs can change. The WDSF archive is the clearest currently verified full-replay option.
Where to watch Olympic Breaking from Paris 2024
The best place to begin is the WDSF Paris 2024 Breaking archive. The archive lists four major replay sections:
- B-Girls round robin
- B-Girls finals
- B-Boys round robin
- B-Boys finals
The finals replays include the quarterfinals, semifinals, bronze-medal battles, and gold-medal battles. If you want the decisive Olympic rounds without watching every earlier battle, choose the relevant finals session. If you want to see how the field developed and how athletes advanced, watch the round-robin replay first.

Look for the archive under the title “Breaking at the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris” on the World DanceSport Federation website. It is an official federation source, not an unofficial highlights channel. Because video rights and music licenses can affect the availability of sports footage, confirm that the replay loads in your country before relying on any secondary platform.
What U.S. viewers were originally supposed to use
During the 2024 Olympic Games, NBCUniversal identified NBC and E! as U.S. television outlets for Breaking. Streaming coverage was available through Peacock and NBC’s Olympic digital platforms. NBCUniversal’s published coverage plan also described NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, and the NBC Sports app as destinations for full-event replays and highlights during the Games.
That information describes the original U.S. rights arrangement; it is not a guarantee that every Paris 2024 Breaking session remains on Peacock or another NBC platform. If a Peacock search does not return the event, use the WDSF archive instead. The Olympic digital ecosystem and official Paris 2024 video channels may also show highlights or replays in selected territories, but availability depends on location and current rights.
Quick replay guide
- For the most complete official option: open the WDSF Paris 2024 Breaking archive.
- For the women’s competition: select the B-Girls round robin or B-Girls finals replay.
- For the men’s competition: select the B-Boys round robin or B-Boys finals replay.
- If you are in the United States: you can also search Peacock, NBC’s Olympic pages, and the NBC Sports app, but treat those as availability-dependent options rather than permanent sources.
- If a video is unavailable: check the official Olympic video ecosystem or a national broadcaster’s Olympic archive in your territory. Avoid assuming that an unofficial upload is authorized or will remain online.

The B-Girls field had 17 athletes. Because the round-robin stage was designed for a 16-athlete field, the competition began with a pre-qualifier; its winner joined the remaining athletes in the round robin. The B-Boys field consisted of 16 athletes.
In the round-robin stage, athletes were placed into groups of four and battled the other breakers in their group. The top eight advanced to the knockout stage. The finals session then proceeded through:
- Quarterfinals
- Semifinals
- Bronze-medal battle
- Gold-medal battle
This structure makes the full-session replays worthwhile. The round robin shows each athlete in several matchups, while the finals reveal how competitors adapted as the stakes increased.
How Olympic Breaking was judged
Breaking was judged through head-to-head comparisons rather than against a fixed maximum score. The World DanceSport Federation’s judging system used five criteria:
- Technique: the quality and control of the movement
- Vocabulary: the range of movements and ability to combine them
- Originality: the individuality and creativity of the performance
- Execution: how cleanly and successfully the moves were performed
- Musicality: how effectively the breaker responded to the music
Judges voted comparatively between the two breakers in each battle. A lower vote count did not mean that an athlete received zero points in a conventional points-based system; it meant that the judges’ comparisons favored the opponent more often in that battle.
For first-time viewers, the most useful question is not “What score did this routine receive?” Instead, watch for which breaker appears stronger across the five criteria in that particular matchup. A breaker can perform difficult power moves yet lose a battle if the opponent is judged more original, musical, controlled, or complete overall.

Who won Olympic Breaking in 2024?
Spoiler warning: the Paris 2024 medalists were:
B-Girls
- Gold: Ami, Japan
- Silver: Nicka, Lithuania
- Bronze: 671, China
Japan’s Ami became the first Olympic champion in Breaking.
B-Boys
- Gold: Phil Wizard, Canada
- Silver: Dany Dann, France
- Bronze: Victor, United States
These results make the finals replays the natural starting point for viewers who want the historic medal battles, while the round-robin sessions provide more context about each medalist’s route through the tournament.
Full replays versus highlights
Short clips can show spectacular freezes, spins, and power moves, but they do not provide the context needed to understand the judging. A full replay lets you compare how athletes respond to one another, change their movement vocabulary, interpret the music, and recover from mistakes.
Choose a full replay if you want to understand the competition or watch complete battles. Choose highlights if you only want notable moments or a quick introduction. Official Olympic and broadcaster video channels may carry different combinations of highlights and full sessions, and their catalogs can vary by country.

Do not assume that Paris 2024’s Olympic debut means Breaking will appear at Los Angeles 2028. The Los Angeles organizing committee selected other additional sports rather than Breaking for those Games. That does not permanently determine the sport’s future Olympic status, but Breaking should not be advertised as a confirmed Los Angeles 2028 event.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the event is called “Breaking,” not just “breakdancing”
Breaking is the official Olympic sport name. “Breakdancing” is a familiar search term and a useful synonym for readers who are new to the discipline, but official results, schedules, and federation materials generally use “Breaking,” “B-Girls,” and “B-Boys.”
