Who hosted SNL on April 12?
Jon Hamm hosted the April 12 episode. It was his fourth time hosting Saturday Night Live, and the appearance came immediately after the April 11 premiere of his Apple TV+ series Your Friends & Neighbors.
Hamm’s monologue played with his history on the program and his reputation for turning up in recurring or cameo-style appearances. His connection to the new series helped explain the timing of the booking, but the episode itself remained a regular live sketch-comedy broadcast rather than a special devoted to the show.
Who was the musical guest?
Lizzo was the musical guest, making her fourth appearance in that role on SNL. She was promoting her forthcoming album Love in Real Life.
According to Peacock’s official recap, Lizzo performed “Love in Real Life” and “Still Bad,” and debuted “Don’t Make Me Love You.”

What happened in the episode?
NBC’s official episode listing and Peacock’s recap identified a wide range of sketches and segments from the broadcast, including:
- Trump Easter cold open: The opening political parody included Mikey Day as Jesus and cast members in a premise involving President Donald Trump.
- “Check to Check Business News”: A fake business-news program satirized the pressure and instability of paying for everyday life.
- “Guess! The Correct! Answer!”: Hamm and other cast members appeared in an intentionally inappropriate game-show scenario.
- “Missing Person”: The Please Don’t Destroy short followed a detective investigation complicated by a concern about ordering pizza.
- Weekend Update: The news desk featured appearances by Chen Biao and Emil Wakim, along with Colin Jost’s accountant, Dawn Altman.
- “The White Potus”: The sketch parodied the HBO series The White Lotus.
- Additional sketches: NBC’s dated clip listings included “New Parents,” “Medication Ad,” and “Icebreaker,” among other segments.
The full lineup was documented by NBC’s official episode and clip pages and by Peacock’s official recap. Individual clips may be listed separately from the complete episode, depending on the platform and the date of access.
Why was Jon Hamm hosting that week?
The main promotional reason was the premiere of Your Friends & Neighbors, Jon Hamm’s Apple TV+ series, on April 11, 2025. Hosting SNL the following night gave Hamm an opportunity to promote the new series while returning to a program he had already hosted three times.
That scheduling connection does not change the answer to the original question: the April 12, 2025 broadcast was a new SNL episode, with Hamm as host and Lizzo as musical guest.

A note about “tonight”
This article answers the historical schedule question for April 12, 2025. Because “tonight” changes depending on when a reader searches, the date is more useful than the relative wording: the Jon Hamm-hosted episode aired on Saturday, April 12, 2025. It should not be read as a current SNL schedule for a later date.
