Dexter: Original Sin is currently a one-season series—not a show with a new Season 2. In the U.S., the legal options are Paramount+ Premium, a current free-with-ads listing on The Roku Channel, digital purchase, and DVD or Blu-ray ownership.
U.S. viewers can watch Dexter: Original Sin with a Paramount+ Premium subscription, and the series is currently listed as free with ads on The Roku Channel. You can also buy Season 1 digitally or own it on DVD or Blu-ray.
There is one important correction to the search phrase “stream new season”: Dexter: Original Sin has only one released season. Although Paramount previously announced a renewal, the company later reversed that decision. Reporting published on August 23, 2025, said the prequel would not return for Season 2. There are no new Season 2 episodes to stream at present.

Free streaming availability is not permanent. Before starting an episode, open the current Roku Channel listing and confirm all of the following:

3. Buy Season 1 digitally
If you do not want to maintain a monthly subscription, the U.S. availability listing identifies Amazon Video, the Apple TV Store, and Fandango At Home as digital purchase options. Digital prices and ownership or viewing terms vary by retailer, so check the individual store page before buying.
A purchase may be preferable when you want to watch the ten-episode season more than once, but it is different from a subscription: the retailer’s licensing and device rules apply, and purchasing does not necessarily provide a downloadable, unrestricted video file.
Prefer to own the season?
If you would rather own the season than maintain a streaming subscription, look for Dexter: Original Sin Season 1 DVD or the Blu-ray edition. Retail listings identify a ten-episode, four-disc DVD set with a June 10, 2025 release date, and listings also show Blu-ray as an available format option. Confirm the exact format, seller, price, stock, and shipping details before ordering.

How many episodes are in Dexter: Original Sin?
Season 1 contains 10 episodes. Paramount’s official series page lists the premiere on December 13, 2024, and concludes the season with Episode 10, “Code Blues.” The show is rated TV-MA, so it is intended for mature audiences.
Is there a new season of Dexter: Original Sin?
No—not at the time of this availability check. Paramount had announced a Season 2 renewal, but that plan was abandoned before the second season entered production. The released series therefore remains a one-season, ten-episode prequel.
That status can change only if Paramount announces a revival or a new production. A page promising newly released Season 2 episodes should be treated cautiously unless it points to an official announcement or a current, legitimate streaming listing.

Where does it fit in the Dexter watch order?
Dexter: Original Sin is a prequel set in the 1990s and follows Dexter Morgan during his early years and entry into Miami Metro. Paramount’s official Dexter viewing guide places it first in the franchise’s chronological order.
You can watch it first if you want the story in timeline order, or watch the original Dexter series before the prequel if you prefer to discover Dexter’s history through the franchise’s original release. Either approach works; watching Original Sin first does not create a new Season 2 story to continue.
