Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” swept its nominated categories
Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” won both Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The Recording Academy’s official winners information states that the song swept all five categories in which Lamar was nominated.
The distinction between the two awards matters: Record of the Year primarily recognizes the recorded performance and production, while Song of the Year recognizes songwriting. “Not Like Us” therefore received major recognition for both the finished recording and the composition.
The wildfire-relief focus of the 2025 ceremony
The 2025 telecast was reimagined partly to raise funds for wildfire relief and to support music professionals affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. The Recording Academy and MusiCares promoted the related Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort.
This was event context rather than a viewing product or subscription offer. Anyone seeking to donate or find current assistance should verify the effort’s present status and use the official Recording Academy or MusiCares information, since relief programs and eligibility details can change.
