Can you still buy the movie?
Yes. Disney and Marvel list the film in several home-video formats, including 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Buying one of these editions is optional; it is not necessary if you simply want to watch the movie through Disney+.
If you want a permanent copy, the Captain America: Brave New World 4K UHD release is the most suitable option for viewers with a compatible 4K television and disc player. Marvel highlights Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos features for the 4K release, though the actual benefit depends on your equipment, room, audio system, and edition.

Disney+ streaming or a physical copy?
| Choose Disney+ | Choose a physical edition |
|---|---|
| You want to watch without buying a separate copy. | You want a disc you can keep and play independently of a streaming catalog. |
| You already subscribe to Disney+ and your local catalog includes the film. | You want 4K presentation, Dolby Vision, or Dolby Atmos where supported by your equipment and edition. |
| You prefer the convenience of an app and internet streaming. | You have unreliable internet access or prefer collecting Marvel home-video releases. |
Neither option is universally better. Disney+ is the simplest route for subscription viewing, while a disc provides ownership of a particular release and may remain useful if the title later changes in a streaming catalog. There is no published guarantee that the film will remain on Disney+ permanently.

For families interested in Sam Wilson’s version of the character, Disney Books lists the print picture book Captain America: Brave New World: A Hero Looks Like You, released January 7, 2025. It is a related children’s book, not a way to stream the movie, so it is best considered separately from the film’s viewing options.
Marvel has also promoted film-related merchandise, including Funko collectibles and Captain America and Red Hulk action figures. Product availability and exact editions vary by retailer; these are optional collectibles rather than alternatives to Disney+ or the movie release.
What if the film does not appear in your Disney+ search?
- Check your region: Disney+ availability can differ outside the United States.
- Confirm the title: Search the full title, including “Brave New World,” rather than only “Captain America.”
- Update the app: An outdated app or device software can prevent current catalog pages or playback features from appearing correctly.
- Check your plan and device: Disney+ says that content and features may vary by plan and device.
- Verify the service status: If the title is listed but will not play, the problem may be account, connectivity, app, or temporary service related rather than a release-date issue.
Do not assume that a rental or digital-purchase listing means the title is unavailable on Disney+. Digital retailers and subscription services use separate release windows and catalogs.
