Netflix added a substantial mix of movies, series, documentaries, anime, stand-up specials, and licensed library titles in the United States during April 2024. The month brought major Netflix releases including Ripley, Parasyte: The Grey, Scoop, Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver, City Hunter, Dead Boy Detectives, and The Asunta Case, alongside returning favorites such as The Matrix, Black Sails, Sex and the City, and Blackfish.
This is a retrospective calendar for U.S. subscribers. It includes both Netflix originals and licensed titles, so availability in other countries—and continued availability after April 2024—may differ. Netflix also adjusted some early schedules as the month approached.
April 2024 highlights on Netflix
April’s most prominent Netflix-led releases included:
- Ripley — a limited series based on Patricia Highsmith’s Tom Ripley character.
- Parasyte: The Grey — a Korean science-fiction horror series inspired by Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Parasyte manga.
- Scoop — a Netflix original film.
- Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver — Zack Snyder’s follow-up to Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire.
- City Hunter — a Japanese live-action manga adaptation.
- Dead Boy Detectives — a supernatural series set in the broader universe associated with The Sandman.
- The Asunta Case — a Spanish crime drama series.
- Baby Reindeer — one of the month’s notable Netflix original series arrivals.
Other notable additions included the nature documentary series Our Living World, the documentary What Jennifer Did, the science-fiction horror film Blackfish as a licensed addition, and a large April 1 library refresh featuring titles such as The Matrix, Baby Driver, American Graffiti, and You’ve Got Mail.

Monday, April 1
April began with one of the month’s largest licensed-title drops. Movies added in the United States included:

The same day also brought Black Clover Seasons 1–2, Great Teacher Onizuka, Haikyu!! Movie 3: Genius and Sense, Haikyu!! Movie 4: Battle of Concepts, Night Raiders, and Skyscraper. A group of 1984 films—including Repo Man, Sixteen Candles, and Birdy—was also associated with the 40th anniversary of those releases.
Netflix’s original comedy special The Magic Prank Show with Justin Willman was released on April 1 as well.

Important distinction: Ripley is a limited series, not a movie. The series centers on Patricia Highsmith’s morally complicated Tom Ripley character.
The first season of Delicious in Dungeon also completed its weekly release schedule on April 4.

Parasyte: The Grey is inspired by Hitoshi Iwaaki’s manga and was produced by Climax Studio and WOW POINT. Netflix described it as a series released on April 5, 2024.
Suzume began streaming around April 6 in some territories. Netflix’s official announcement identified a global streaming rollout around that date and an April 5 Japanese exclusivity date, so the title should not be treated as a universal U.S. April 5 release.

Not every April addition arrived as a complete season on a single day. The schedule also included weekly episodes:
- Delicious in Dungeon: the first season completed its weekly run on April 4.
- Everyone Loves Me: new episodes were scheduled on Fridays.
- Eye Love You: a new episode was listed for April 14.
- The Great Indian Kapil Show: new episodes arrived on Saturdays.
Netflix originals versus licensed additions
“Coming to Netflix” does not mean that Netflix produced every title. Netflix’s own originals and distributed productions appeared alongside movies and series licensed from other studios or platforms.

That distinction matters because licensed titles are especially dependent on territory and contract windows. A movie available to U.S. subscribers in April 2024 may not have been available in Canada, the United Kingdom, or another market, and may later have left the service.

This list records titles added to Netflix’s U.S. catalog during April 2024. It is not a list of everything Netflix produced, and it does not cover removals. A separate removals schedule from the same period included titles such as Erin Brockovich, Joker, Jurassic Park, The Meg, Train to Busan, and Whiplash.

Release calendars are also snapshots. Netflix sometimes changes dates, adds titles after an early schedule is published, or gives a different date to a title in another country. For that reason, the dates above should be read as the documented U.S. arrival schedule for April 2024—not as a worldwide Netflix calendar.
