All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is officially happening: Netflix renewed the series in 2022 and announced that production began in July 2025. The sequel will move the survivors’ story from Hyosan High School to a university in Seoul, where a new infection wave threatens Nam On-jo and those around her. Netflix has not announced a specific release date.
Season 2 is officially happening—but Netflix has not announced a release date
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is confirmed, and Netflix announced on July 22, 2025, that production had begun. The returning leads are Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon, while the story moves beyond Hyosan High School to a university in Seoul.
The important caveat is the premiere date: Netflix has not announced a specific Season 2 release date in the official information currently available. Reports that point to December 2026, January 2027, or another particular month remain predictions or industry speculation—not confirmed Netflix scheduling.

Independent production reporting in January 2026 said filming was still in progress and was expected to finish around mid-February. A later report published on February 19, 2026, said filming had wrapped or was finishing after roughly seven months, while also noting that Netflix had not issued an official wrap announcement at that point.
Those reports may help explain why fans are discussing a late-2026 or 2027 launch, but they do not establish a premiere date. Post-filming work can include editing, visual effects, sound, music, subtitles, dubbing, publicity, and scheduling across Netflix territories. Until Netflix announces a date, the accurate description is simply release date TBA.
What will Season 2 be about?
Season 2 expands the series from a school-centered zombie siege into a larger Seoul-based survival story. Nam On-jo is now a university student, but the trauma and grief caused by the Hyosan outbreak continue to affect her. When a new infection wave reaches Seoul, she is forced into another fight to survive.
The official setup also brings back Lee Cheong-san, Choi Nam-ra, and Lee Su-hyeok, who are each trying to navigate life after the original disaster. On-jo forms new relationships with university seniors Yong Ma-ru, So Ju-ran, and Lee Jong-ah. The story additionally includes Han Du-seok, a National Intelligence Service team leader, suggesting that Season 2 will involve institutions and responses beyond the school community.

The university setting gives the show a new social environment, while the Seoul location provides a much wider backdrop for the outbreak.
What the official synopsis does not reveal
Netflix has not explained several major story details. At present, viewers do not know:
- Whether the new infection is caused by the same virus in exactly the same form.
- How much time has passed since the Hyosan outbreak.
- What happened to every surviving or missing Season 1 character.
- How the National Intelligence Service becomes involved.
- Whether the outbreak is limited to Seoul or spreads farther.
- Whether Season 2 will end the story or lead to another season.
Any detailed explanation of the virus, a complete character-fate list, or a claim that Season 2 follows a specific set of webtoon chapters would go beyond what Netflix has confirmed.
Returning cast
Netflix’s officially announced returning principal cast consists of four performers:
- Park Ji-hu as Nam On-jo — now a university student and the central figure in the new outbreak story.
- Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong-san.
- Cho Yi-hyun as Choi Nam-ra.
- Lomon as Lee Su-hyeok.
Netflix describes these four as returning survivors from the Hyosan outbreak. Other performers have been discussed in independent entertainment reports, but those reports are not treated here as confirmation of a complete official cast list.
New cast members
Netflix has announced four new cast members for the Seoul and university storyline:

Who is making Season 2?
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 again has Lee JQ and Kim Nam-su directing, with Chun Sung-il as writer. Netflix’s production announcement lists FILM MONSTER Co., Ltd. as the production company, with co-production by SLL Joongang Co., Ltd., KIMJONGHAK PRODUCTION Co., Ltd., and NPIO Entertainment Co., Ltd.

Production timeline
- June 6, 2022: Netflix announces that the Korean zombie series has been renewed for Season 2.
- July 22, 2025: Netflix announces that Season 2 production is underway and reveals the principal returning and new cast.
- January 9, 2026: Independent reporting says filming is ongoing and is expected to finish around mid-February.
- February 19, 2026: Independent reporting says filming has wrapped or is finishing after approximately seven months, while noting that Netflix has not made an official wrap announcement.
- Currently: Netflix has not announced the premiere date or a detailed release schedule.
The distinction between an official production announcement and independent filming reports matters. Netflix has officially confirmed that production began. Reports about filming completion should be attributed to those outlets until Netflix or the production companies make a formal announcement.
How many episodes will Season 2 have?
Netflix has not announced a definitive Season 2 episode count in the official information reviewed. Season 1 consisted of 12 episodes, but that does not establish the length of the sequel. The first season’s format should be treated as context, not confirmation.
Is Season 2 based on the webtoon?
The television series is based on Joo Dong-geun’s Korean webtoon, commonly known in English as Now at Our School and associated with the English title All of Us Are Dead. Netflix describes the source as a coming-of-age webtoon about friends confronting zombies, loss, bullying, and survival.

Because the first season established its own television continuity and the sequel moves the survivors into a new Seoul storyline, the safest description is that Season 2 continues Netflix’s adaptation rather than promising a scene-by-scene adaptation of unpublished source material.

Should fans expect Season 2 in 2026 or 2027?
Neither year should be presented as confirmed. A 2026 release has been discussed by fans and entertainment coverage, while at least one January 2026 report viewed 2027 as more likely because the series was absent from Netflix’s then-published 2026 K-drama schedule. That is an industry inference, not an announcement from Netflix.
The most reliable update is that production has moved forward and filming was reported to have finished or been finishing in February 2026. The next dependable milestone will be an official Netflix announcement with a date, trailer, or release window.

What to watch before Season 2
Season 1 is the only season currently listed on Netflix’s title page. Rewatching it is useful for tracking the relationships among On-jo, Cheong-san, Nam-ra, and Su-hyeok, as well as the outbreak’s effects on the students and the unresolved questions surrounding the infected. It also provides the context for the sequel’s central change: the survivors are no longer trapped only inside a high school, but are facing the consequences of the disaster in a wider urban setting.
The bottom line
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is real, officially renewed, and in production, with Netflix confirming a Seoul university setting, a new infection wave, four returning principal cast members, four newly announced cast members, and the return of the original writer-director team. What Netflix has not confirmed is just as important: there is no official release date, episode count, complete cast list, definitive virus explanation, or confirmation that the season will be the last.
For now, the accurate status is: Season 2 is in post-filming production or post-production, and its Netflix premiere date remains TBA.
