Kalina auditioned for the Rockettes in 2025 but did not make the team that year. She has described the result as a “not now,” not as the end of that ambition. She also returned to Netflix’s America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in Season 2 as an alumna—not as a current member of the squad.
Why did Victoria Kalina leave the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?
Kalina’s departure followed a conversation about whether she was being considered for a leadership role if she returned for a fifth season. In interviews after the first season of America’s Sweethearts, she said she had initially been preparing to audition again, including thinking about her song, choreography and costume.

According to Kalina’s account, a conversation with DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell left her disappointed because their expectations for her future role did not appear to align with what she had hoped. She then reconsidered returning and decided to leave the team.
That is Kalina’s explanation, and it should not be presented as an independently verified claim that the Cowboys organization forced her out. The most accurate description is that she chose not to return after a conversation about her potential leadership path.
How long was Victoria Kalina a DCC?
Kalina first made the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in 2019. Reporting describes her as a four-season member. She took a hiatus in 2021 and returned for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
She was also part of the DCC’s legacy history. Her mother, Tina Kalina, had been a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader as well. That family connection added another layer to the expectations surrounding Victoria’s time with the organization, although it does not mean that her later career is defined only by her DCC background.

Where does Victoria Kalina live now?
Kalina relocated from Texas to New York City in 2024. The move represented both a professional and personal change. She had moved directly from high school into the Cowboys orbit and described New York as an opportunity to establish a life of her own outside the relatively closed world she associated with DCC.
New York also offered access to a much wider dance community. She trained in precision dance with former Rockette Rhonda Malkin and attended classes and workshops at Ripley-Grier Studios, Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center. She also spoke about experiencing the city independently, including dating and building a life away from home.

Residence details and freelance schedules can change, so the best-supported description is that Kalina moved to New York to pursue dance—not that she has signed a permanent contract with a particular New York studio or company.
Did Victoria Kalina become a Radio City Rockette?
No. Kalina auditioned for the Radio City Rockettes in 2025, with reports placing the audition in April or spring of that year, but she did not make the team in that audition cycle.
She has nevertheless spoken positively about the experience and framed the outcome as a “not now.” The Rockettes had been a long-standing ambition, following her earlier dream of becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. She continued to describe training and future opportunities as part of the process.
It would be inaccurate to say that she became a Rockette, and it would also be premature to say that she has permanently abandoned the goal. The documented result is simply that the 2025 audition did not lead to a place on the team.
What does Victoria Kalina do now?
Kalina’s documented post-DCC work is best described as a combination of professional dancer and dance educator. While continuing her own training in New York, she has taught dance classes and private lessons.
Later workshop material identified Victoria Kalina Dance and described her as offering private instruction, classes and masterclasses. An AVA Dance Co. listing also promoted a professional dance workshop featuring her. These listings support describing her work as freelance teaching, workshops, private coaching and masterclasses.

Victoria Kalina’s mental-health and body-image story
Kalina’s story on America’s Sweethearts also included her own public discussion of depression, an eating disorder, perfectionism and the mental-health break that contributed to her DCC hiatus. In interviews and a podcast appearance, she described the relationship she experienced between depression, coping behaviors, eating difficulties and the pressure of professional dance.
Those details should be understood as Kalina’s account of her experiences, not as a basis for diagnosing her. Her post-DCC story is broader than her health history: she left a demanding environment, continued pursuing dance, moved to New York and began building a more independent professional life.
Readers dealing with depression, eating-disorder symptoms or concerns about body image should speak with a qualified medical or mental-health professional. A celebrity interview is not a substitute for individualized care.

Netflix’s official Season 2 coverage describes Kalina’s return as an alumna taking on a new challenge. That distinction matters: she appeared in the series after leaving DCC, but she did not return as a member of the current cheerleading squad.
The series remains the clearest way to follow the DCC-era part of her story, including her legacy connection, the pressure she discussed, her mental-health disclosures and her decision to move forward. The documentary follows the team through auditions, training camp and the NFL season, while Kalina’s later appearance shows how her relationship with the organization continued after her departure.

A keepsake for fans of the DCC series
For readers interested in the broader franchise rather than a biography of Kalina, the America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders book is a relevant keepsake. The official Assouline listing describes it as a 264-page Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders coffee-table book released in November 2025, with contributions from DCC leadership and past and present cheerleaders.
It is not a Victoria Kalina biography and should not be presented as one. Availability through retailers, including Amazon, should be verified before purchase.
Victoria Kalina’s life after DCC, in brief
