James Gunn’s Superman is now available to stream on HBO Max, according to DC’s current movie listing. The 2025 feature stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Because streaming catalogs change by location and date, viewers should confirm the title in their local HBO Max catalog before subscribing or planning a watch.
Yes—James Gunn’s Superman is currently listed as streaming on HBO Max. DC’s official movie index marks the 2025 film “Stream on HBO Max,” and a DC article published September 23, 2025, also stated that the film was streaming there.
That wording is intentionally specific: availability can change by country, date, and service catalog. The confirmation discussed here is based on the U.S.-oriented DC listing reviewed for this article, not a guarantee that the movie is available in every territory or indefinitely.

Do you need a separate Superman rental or purchase?
Not according to the streaming listing: HBO Max is the named destination. However, “streaming on HBO Max” does not mean the film is free to everyone. You need an applicable HBO Max subscription or another supported form of access.

Max’s help documentation explains that subscription options and supported access methods can vary, while its catalog can change because some movies and shows are available for limited periods. The available information does not establish a Superman-specific price, free-trial offer, or special plan requirement, so check the current HBO Max listing before subscribing solely to watch this film.
How to check whether Superman is available where you live
- Open the HBO Max app or the service’s official website.
- Search for Superman and confirm that the result is the 2025 film directed by James Gunn.
- Check the title page for the available playback option and any plan or access notice.
- If the movie does not appear, check HBO Max’s movie catalog or “What’s New” section. The title may not be available in your country, or its catalog window may have ended.
Do not assume that a subscription that works in one country will provide the same catalog in another. The most defensible current statement is that DC’s reviewed listing marks Superman as streaming on HBO Max; local availability should be confirmed at the time you watch.

Prefer to own the movie?
For viewers who do not want to depend on a changing streaming catalog, DC’s Superman Day coverage says that Superman (2025) 4K UHD Blu-ray is available to purchase, along with digital purchase options. A disc purchase is separate from HBO Max access and is the more durable choice for collectors or anyone who wants to revisit the film without relying on its subscription availability.
Other Superman programming on HBO Max
DC’s Superman Day 2026 coverage describes a dedicated Superman hub on HBO Max featuring classic films, animated series, and the 2025 blockbuster. The coverage names related programming including Superman & Lois, My Adventures with Superman, and Krypto Saves the Day!.
DC’s television index separately lists My Adventures with Superman as streaming on HBO Max. These are useful starting points for a Superman-themed viewing session, but individual titles can have different regional availability and expiration dates. The presence of one title on HBO Max should not be treated as proof that the entire Superman catalog is available everywhere.

A related Superman read
If you are looking for Superman material beyond the 2025 film, DC also promotes the All-Star Superman Deluxe Edition hardcover graphic novel. It is a related Superman collectible—not an adaptation of James Gunn’s 2025 movie. DC says the Superman Day special edition includes a digital code for the 2011 animated film, so readers should check the edition details before buying.
DC also highlights collected comic editions such as Superman Unlimited Vol. 1: Kryptonite Kingdom. These books are related Superman publishing, not film tie-ins unless a specific product description says otherwise.
Bottom line
James Gunn’s Superman is now listed as streaming on HBO Max, according to DC’s official movie listing and its September 23, 2025 streaming announcement. HBO Max access requires an applicable subscription or access arrangement, and availability may vary by location and change over time. Check the title in your local HBO Max catalog before signing up, or choose the 4K UHD release if you prefer to own the film.
