Jeffrey Dean Morgan hosts the U.S. edition of Destination X, the NBC/Peacock reality competition in which contestants travel on a bus with blacked-out windows, solve location clues, and mark their guesses on a map. Here is the complete Season 1 cast, the announced Season 2 lineup, and the key difference between the American and British versions.
Who is in the U.S. version of Destination X?
The American version of Destination X is hosted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who also serves as an executive producer and the show’s gamemaster. The NBC/Peacock reality competition premiered in the United States on May 27, 2025, and follows 12 contestants as they travel in a bus with blacked-out windows and no GPS, solving clues to determine where they are.
The contestant whose final map guess is farthest from the real location is eliminated. The winner competes for a $250,000 prize.
Season 1 cast of Destination X
Peacock’s official U.S. cast list includes reality-TV veterans and civilian contestants. Peter Weber is listed with the season’s cast, although he entered after the journey had already begun rather than appearing with the group from the opening episode.

Peter Weber joined after the start
Peter Weber’s inclusion requires a small clarification. Although he appears on the official Season 1 cast list, additional coverage identifies him as a mid-journey arrival. It is therefore more precise to call him a Season 1 contestant than one of the show’s original opening cast members.
The reality-TV alumni
The first U.S. cast mixes people recognized from other unscripted shows with civilians who do not have the same reality-TV background. JaNa Craig came from Love Island USA; Weber from The Bachelor and The Traitors; and Josh Martinez from Big Brother. The rest of the lineup includes contestants presented through their personal backgrounds and the relationships and alliances that developed during the competition.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s role as host and gamemaster
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is not simply a narrator who introduces each episode. Peacock identifies him as the show’s host, executive producer, and gamemaster. In that role, he presents the challenges, delivers information to the players, and controls the twists and strategic complications that make the location-guessing format work.

How the U.S. show works
The contestants travel together in a specially designed bus whose windows are blacked out. With no ordinary view of the road and no GPS access, they must use observations, challenge results, clues, and deductions to identify their location.
At the end of an episode, each contestant places or marks a guess on a map. The player whose answer is farthest from the actual location is eliminated. That structure turns travel into a geography and strategy game: a contestant can know the general region but still be in danger if another player makes a more accurate guess.
