At a glance: the biggest fall 2025 story on each network

CBS delayed most of its scripted rollout until October, with Survivor and The Amazing Race carrying the early Wednesday schedule. NBC opened with football, launched its returning dramas in stages, and substantially reshaped Tuesday with the return of NBA coverage. ABC kept a relatively stable reality, comedy, sports, and drama lineup, adding 9-1-1: Nashville between 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy.

This is the announced and subsequently documented U.S. broadcast primetime schedule for fall 2025, part of the 2025–2026 television season. “Fall” here means the September-through-November launch period, including sports, specials, staggered premieres, and shows announced for fall but moved later. All listed times are Eastern unless noted otherwise. Because this guide is being published as a historical reference, it should not be read as the current 2026 schedule.

Complete CBS fall 2025 schedule

CBS used September primarily for unscripted programming, sports, specials, and newsmagazines. Its regular scripted lineup arrived mostly between October 13 and October 19.

CBS weekly lineup

The Wednesday schedule began with Survivor and The Amazing Race in different premiere-week positions before settling into the regular 8:00 and 9:30 p.m. arrangement on October 1. CBS had also planned later-season changes: the Sunday 9:00 p.m. slot was expected to move from The Road to Y: Marshals in spring, not fall.

CBS premiere dates and launch-night exceptions

There is an important Friday distinction: on October 17, Fire Country premiered at 8:00 p.m. and Sheriff Country at 9:00 p.m. CBS swapped them beginning October 24, establishing Sheriff Country at 8:00 p.m. and Fire Country at 9:00 p.m.

What was new, delayed, or absent on CBS?

• New fall or season-launch titles: DMV, Sheriff Country, Boston Blue, and The Road.
• Moved out of the primary fall launch: CIA was moved to spring while undergoing a showrunner change. Y: Marshals, America’s Culinary Cup, and Harlan Coben’s Final Twist were also positioned outside the main fall window.
• Not part of the fall lineup: Blue Bloods, The Equalizer, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, Poppa’s House, The Summit, and S.W.A.T.

Complete NBC fall 2025 schedule

NBC’s schedule was unusually dependent on sports timing. Football occupied the opening weeks, and the network’s return to NBA coverage changed the Tuesday lineup in October. Sports start times can also vary with pregame programming, regional assignments, and game length.

NBC weekly lineup

The Monday schedule was transitional in November. St. Denis Medical began at 8:00 p.m., while The Paper received a broadcast premiere at 8:30 p.m. beginning November 10 during the transition. The detailed nightly placement therefore changed during the month rather than remaining identical from September through November.

NBC premiere dates

NBC’s NBA return and delayed shows

NBA coverage was more than a single new program: it reshaped NBC’s fall schedule. NBC returned to NBA coverage after more than two decades under an announced 11-year agreement spanning NBCUniversal platforms. The fall launch began October 21, with additional Peacock-exclusive Monday coverage beginning October 27. Sunday Night Basketball was planned for February 1, 2026, outside this fall guide. NBC’s official announcement describes the broader 2025 NBC fall schedule and sports distribution.

The Hunting Party and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins were held for a later date instead of joining the initial fall launch. The researched fall summary also identified Lopez vs. Lopez, Night Court, Found, The Irrational, Suits LA, and Grosse Pointe Garden Society as canceled and absent from the fall schedule.

Complete ABC fall 2025 schedule

ABC’s lineup was comparatively stable. Its major fall changes were Shark Tank moving to Wednesday and the launch of 9-1-1: Nashville in the Thursday-night franchise block.

ABC weekly lineup

ABC premiere dates

ABC described original programming as available the next day on Hulu, subject to the applicable service and package arrangements. Dancing with the Stars also had a live simulcast on Disney+. ABC’s official fall announcement is the best source for those distribution details.

ABC’s new and held programs

• Only new ABC series explicitly premiering in fall: 9-1-1: Nashville.
• Returning fall series: 9-1-1, Abbott Elementary, America’s Funniest Home Videos, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, Dancing with the Stars, The Golden Bachelor, Grey’s Anatomy, High Potential, Shark Tank, and Shifting Gears.
• Held for 2026: American Idol, Celebrity Jeopardy!, The Rookie, and Will Trent.
• Not returning in the fall lineup: The Conners and Doctor Odyssey. ABC separately stated that Doctor Odyssey had been canceled, while some other programs were scheduled to debut in 2026.

How to watch CBS, NBC, and ABC

These are broadcast-network schedules, not complete streaming catalogs. Availability depends on your local affiliate, market, platform, and the type of program.

Over the air

A digital TV antenna may receive your local CBS, NBC, and ABC affiliates without a cable subscription or live-TV bundle. Reception is not guaranteed: results depend on location, terrain, distance from transmitters, building materials, antenna placement, and the strength of each local station. Check your market’s available stations before buying. An antenna receives the broadcast signal; it does not guarantee access to every network in every area.

NBC sports streaming

NBC’s fall sports schedule included NFL and college football as well as the October return of NBA programming. Peacock was identified as part of NBCUniversal’s sports distribution, including NBA coverage. That streaming access should be kept separate from the linear NBC schedule, since not every broadcast event necessarily follows identical availability or timing rules. Readers can review NBC’s official schedule and Peacock sports information before relying on a particular event’s streaming access.

ABC next-day and live options

ABC stated that its original programming would be available the next day on Hulu, including through applicable Disney+ bundle arrangements. Dancing with the Stars was also scheduled to simulcast live on Disney+. Those are distribution notes for the programs identified by ABC, not a claim that every CBS, NBC, or ABC program shared one common streaming destination.

Choosing an installation accessory

A TV antenna amplifier can be relevant for some conditional reception setups or long cable runs, but amplification is not a universal solution. It cannot repair a missing broadcast signal, poor antenna placement, or severe interference, and too much amplification can create its own problems. A TV signal meter or antenna alignment tool is more useful for readers installing and aiming an antenna themselves than for someone seeking a simple plug-in setup. A replacement or longer coaxial cable may be needed when the antenna must be placed farther from a television.

What changed across the three networks?

The most common scheduling mistake is treating a premiere-night arrangement as the permanent weekly lineup. CBS’s October 17 Friday order, NBC’s September-to-November transitions, and sports nights on all three networks demonstrate why both the premiere dates and the regular schedules matter.
