Television monitors inside HUD headquarters in Washington displayed an apparently AI-generated video of Donald Trump kissing and caressing Elon Musk’s feet on February 24, 2025. The clip carried the words “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.” HUD confirmed the unauthorized display and promised action, but the public record does not establish who put it there or whether an external cyberattack occurred.
Television monitors inside the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., displayed an apparently AI-generated video of Donald Trump kissing and caressing Elon Musk’s bare feet on February 24, 2025. The clip also showed the words “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.”
The footage was fake—not evidence that Trump actually kissed or licked Musk’s feet. HUD acknowledged that unauthorized content appeared on its screens and said that appropriate action would be taken. However, the available reporting does not establish who put the video on the monitors, how the screens were accessed, or whether the incident involved an external cyberattack.
What appeared on the HUD screens
The incident took place at the Robert C. Weaver Federal Building, HUD’s Washington headquarters. Reports said that the video played repeatedly on several or multiple monitors for several minutes. Employees eventually turned off or unplugged the affected televisions manually.

The video showed a digitally generated likeness of Trump interacting with Musk’s feet. Descriptions varied: some reports characterized the action as kissing, while others described caressing or licking. The screen also displayed the message “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.”
WIRED published video supplied by someone at HUD headquarters, and two HUD employees confirmed the display to NBC News, according to a report republished by MS NOW. Those accounts support the core fact that the footage appeared on internal government monitors rather than being merely an online fabrication about an imaginary incident.
Why the video appeared to be AI-generated
Multiple reports described the clip as fake, computer-generated, or apparently AI-generated. One conspicuous visual error was that Musk appeared to have two left feet. That kind of anatomical inconsistency is a strong sign of synthetic or manipulated imagery.
The available evidence does not identify the AI model, video-generation service, creator, original upload, or date on which the footage was made. It is therefore not accurate to attribute the clip to a particular AI company or tool.

Was HUD hacked?
News headlines and social-media posts often described the event as a hack, hijacking, or sabotage. In the ordinary sense, unauthorized content did appear on government screens. But “hack” can imply a specific technical intrusion, and the public reporting reviewed for this article does not prove that an outside attacker breached HUD’s network.
Reuters reported that it could not establish the video’s provenance. No public account reviewed here identifies the person or group responsible, explains how the monitors were reached, or confirms whether the source was inside or outside the building.
The most precise description is that HUD monitors were apparently accessed or manipulated so that unauthorized video played on them. Calling it a confirmed external cyberattack would go beyond the evidence.

What HUD said
HUD spokesperson Kasey Lovett called the incident “another waste of taxpayer dollars and resources” and said that “appropriate action” would be taken for all involved. The HUD secretary’s press office similarly described the display as an abuse of taxpayer resources and indicated that responsibility would be pursued.
That response confirms that the agency recognized the unauthorized playback. It does not, by itself, confirm the identity of whoever arranged it, the technical method used, or any later disciplinary or criminal case.

What the caption may have meant
The words “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING” appeared to be a political joke about Musk’s influence in the Trump administration. Contemporary coverage connected the phrase with Trump’s own February 2025 social-media language, including a post that said “Long live the king.” Forbes reported on that apparent connection.
That interpretation remains context, not a confirmed explanation from the person who placed the video on the screens. The event occurred during the administration’s return-to-office policy for federal workers and amid Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency-related efforts to reduce or reorganize the federal workforce. Those circumstances help explain why observers interpreted the display as political mockery or a workplace protest, but they do not establish the perpetrator’s motive.
Confirmed facts and unanswered questions
| Question | What the reporting supports |
|---|---|
| Did the video appear inside HUD headquarters? | Yes. Employees confirmed it, WIRED obtained video from the building, and HUD acknowledged the incident. |
| When did it happen? | Monday, February 24, 2025. |
| What did the clip show? | An apparently synthetic likeness of Trump interacting with Musk’s feet, along with “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.” |
| Was it authentic footage? | No. Reports characterized it as fake or apparently AI-generated, and visible anatomical errors supported that assessment. |
| How long did it play? | Reports described a loop lasting several minutes. No authoritative exact duration was established. |
| How many screens were affected? | Reports referred to several, multiple, or screens throughout the building. A precise count has not been established. |
| Who was responsible? | The public reporting reviewed here does not identify a person or group. |
| Was there a confirmed cyberattack? | No. Unauthorized playback is supported, but the exact access method and provenance remain uncertain. |
| Were arrests, firings, or charges reported? | The sources reviewed document HUD’s promise of “appropriate action,” not a confirmed later arrest, firing, or criminal charge. |
Why careful wording matters
The incident is a useful example of how synthetic political media and imprecise headlines can become entangled. The display itself was real, but the people shown in the clip were represented through fabricated imagery. The unauthorized appearance of the video on government monitors is well supported; the technical explanation for how it happened is not.
A reliable summary should therefore distinguish three separate claims:
- The display event: An apparently AI-generated video appeared on HUD monitors in Washington on February 24, 2025.
- The content: The clip portrayed Trump appearing to kiss, caress, or lick Musk’s feet and included “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.”
- The intrusion question: The screens displayed unauthorized material, but no public evidence reviewed here establishes who inserted it or whether an outside hacker breached HUD systems.
It would be misleading to say that Trump actually kissed or licked Musk’s feet, that the video was authentic, that it was produced by a named AI company, or that a particular hacker, employee, or political group was responsible.

- Strong Signal Reception: Our car hud uses dual-mode chip technology—GPS+BDS signals—with a high refresh rate of 10 Hz for rapid, accurate reception. It can pick up to 32 satellite signals, it maintains a stable connection for precise speed data, whether you're driving in urban or rural areas
Bottom line
The HUD monitor incident happened: an apparently AI-generated Trump-and-Musk feet video played on screens inside the agency’s Washington headquarters, reportedly in a loop, until personnel shut down or unplugged the televisions. HUD called the display a misuse of taxpayer resources and promised appropriate action. The central unresolved issue is not whether the video appeared, but who placed it there and how the monitors were accessed.

No. The clip was described as fake or apparently AI-generated, with visible errors such as Musk appearing to have two left feet. It was not evidence of a real encounter.
Was HUD definitely hacked?
Not definitively. Unauthorized video appeared on HUD monitors, but the available reporting does not establish who accessed them, how it happened, or whether an outside attacker breached HUD’s systems.
Who made the AI video?

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: A fake, apparently AI-generated video portraying Donald Trump kissing or caressing Elon Musk’s feet appeared on HUD monitors on February 24, 2025. The display is well supported by employee accounts, video obtained at the building, and HUD’s response. The responsible person or group—and whether the event technically involved an external hack—has not been established.
