Although both sisters have grown up in the public eye, neither should be reduced to being “Brooke Shields’ daughter.” Rowan’s current story is about exploring television, hosting, and broadcast journalism after college. Grier’s public profile is more limited: she is a Wake Forest student with an interest in fashion and modeling, but available reputable coverage does not establish that she has launched a full-time modeling career.

Rowan Francis Henchy
Rowan Francis Henchy is Brooke and Chris Henchy’s older daughter. She was born in New York on May 15, 2003, and attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
Education and interests
Wake Forest’s senior showcase identified Rowan’s interests as including screenwriting, comedy, character development, journalism, politics, and broadcast journalism. The university’s 2025 commencement program listed Rowan Francis Henchy among its graduates. Bravo later reported that she graduated with a degree in Communications and a minor in Journalism.
Those details help explain why Rowan’s current ambitions extend beyond simply appearing on a reality television show. Her documented interests include writing, reporting, comedy, and on-camera communication. At the same time, Bravo’s own description presents her as a recent graduate trying to decide what comes next—not as someone with an already established, permanent television career.
Rowan on Next Gen NYC
Rowan became a cast member of Next Gen NYC Season 2, which premiered on Bravo on June 24, 2026. The season follows young adults dealing with friendships, relationships, work, and the uncertainty of early adulthood. Bravo’s biography describes Rowan as living in her childhood home in New York after college while considering her next professional direction.

Rowan is navigating the pressure of building an identity separate from two successful parents while exploring entertainment and possible hosting or broadcast-journalism work. That is a current phase of her life, not proof that she has settled on one long-term profession.
Season 2 episodes are listed for streaming on Peacock the day after their Bravo broadcast. Availability, episode schedules, subscription requirements, and territorial access can change, so viewers should check the current Peacock listing before watching. Grier Hammond Henchy
Grier Hammond Henchy is Brooke and Chris Henchy’s younger daughter. She was born on April 18, 2006, and attended Wake Forest University after beginning college in 2024.
In a 2024 PEOPLE interview, Rowan was described as a Wake Forest senior while Grier was preparing to enter the university as a freshman. Later coverage confirmed that both sisters attended Wake Forest, giving them an unusual opportunity to share a college connection while pursuing their own interests.
Grier’s interest in fashion and modeling
Grier has appeared with Brooke at premieres, red-carpet events, family interviews, and fashion-related occasions. In 2023, Brooke discussed Grier’s entry into the modeling industry with Good Morning America. That reporting supports describing fashion and modeling as an early public interest.
It does not, however, establish Grier as a confirmed full-time professional model. Unless a newer primary source says otherwise, the more accurate description is that she is a Wake Forest student who has shown interest in modeling and fashion.
The wedding-dress graduation moment
Grier’s 2024 high-school graduation received attention partly because she wore a modified version of Brooke’s wedding dress. The family-fashion detail connected Grier to her mother’s personal history without suggesting that she is pursuing the same career. It became one of the most widely discussed public images of the sisters during the period when Grier was preparing to leave for college.
Rowan and Grier’s relationship
Brooke, Rowan, and Grier have occasionally appeared together in interviews and family features, but the family has generally maintained a relatively private profile. Their 2024 joint PEOPLE interview offered a glimpse of their different personalities and the family’s transition into a new stage of life.

The contrast was presented affectionately rather than as a rivalry: the sisters have distinct temperaments while remaining close.
The interview took place shortly before Grier left for college. Rowan was already at Wake Forest, and Grier’s move meant that both daughters would be away from home. Brooke subsequently spoke publicly about becoming an empty nester after the two daughters were at college in 2024.
Matching tattoos
In 2024, Brooke revealed that she has matching tattoos with both daughters. The tattoos became another small example of the family’s bond, particularly as Rowan and Grier moved into college and young adulthood. The detail is best understood as a family milestone rather than evidence of a broader public brand or business involving the sisters.

How Brooke Shields’ daughters fit into her memoir and motherhood story
Rowan and Grier are important to Brooke’s public discussions of motherhood, boundaries, identity, and the transition from raising children to relating to adult daughters. Brooke has often connected her experiences as a mother with the way she understands her own difficult relationship with her mother, Teri.
That connection should not be overstated. There Was a Little Girl is primarily Brooke’s memoir about her complicated relationship with her mother. It is not a biography of Rowan or Grier. The daughters are part of the book’s broader motherhood context because becoming a mother changed Brooke’s perspective, but the central family relationship in the memoir is Brooke’s relationship with Teri.
Readers interested in that background can find There Was a Little Girl by Brooke Shields, the memoir that most directly explains the family history behind Brooke’s reflections on motherhood and parenting.
What are Rowan and Grier doing now?
- Rowan: As of August 2026, she is publicly associated with Next Gen NYC Season 2 and is exploring entertainment, hosting, broadcast journalism, and other creative work after graduating from Wake Forest.
- Grier: As of the same date, she is a Wake Forest student whose public interests include fashion and modeling. Reputable available sources do not confirm a definitive post-college career.
The distinction matters because entertainment coverage can turn an expressed interest into an apparent occupation. Rowan has not been presented by the available official materials as having a settled lifelong television career, and Grier has not been established by the available sources as a professional model. Both are still at an exploratory stage of early adulthood.

Reality programming can provide context about a particular season, but it should not automatically be used to make permanent claims about a person’s life.
