The five-episode block, released November 15, 2024, features returning leads Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Tanner Buchanan, Xolo Maridueña, Mary Mouser, Peyton List, and the rest of the Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai teams, while introducing Iron Dragons captains Axel and Zara as major new rivals.
Spoiler warning: This guide covers all five episodes of Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2—Episodes 6 through 10—including Tory’s return to Cobra Kai, the Sekai Taikai drug-test scandal, and Kwon’s death.
Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2 brings Daniel LaRusso, Johnny Lawrence, and their students to Spain for the Sekai Taikai. The principal returning cast includes Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Tanner Buchanan, Xolo Maridueña, Mary Mouser, Peyton List, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, Oona O’Brien, and Dallas Dupree Young. The tournament also introduces major international threats, including Iron Dragons captain Axel Kovačević, captain Zara Malik, and Korean Cobra Kai fighter Kwon Jae-Sung.
Part 2 ends before the tournament can produce a final champion. Four Udar Tigra fighters fail performance-enhancing-drug tests, sensei Ivanov attacks tournament host Gunther Braun, and the resulting brawl becomes fatal when Kwon uses John Kreese’s discarded knife. The final five episodes of Season 6—Part 3—resolve the suspended tournament and should not be confused with this installment.

Returning Miyagi-Do cast and characters
Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso
Daniel remains Miyagi-Do’s senior sensei and its strongest link to the teachings of Mr. Miyagi. In Part 2, he has to perform two difficult jobs at once: prepare an international tournament team and confront unresolved questions about Miyagi’s past. His defensive philosophy is increasingly difficult to preserve as the Sekai Taikai becomes more aggressive and personal.
Daniel’s conflict with Johnny is not simply about technique. Daniel wants Miyagi-Do to remain faithful to its principles, while Johnny is more willing to adapt to the ruthless realities of elite competition. Their disagreement becomes one of the adult storylines running beneath the students’ matches.
William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence
Johnny is Miyagi-Do’s second sensei and the emotional engine behind the team’s competitive push. He continues trying to work with Daniel despite their contrasting approaches to coaching. His relationship with Carmen also gives him stakes beyond the dojo: Carmen’s pregnancy and the couple’s growing family make Johnny’s future feel as important as the tournament.
Part 2 uses Johnny’s family storyline as a counterpoint to the chaos in Spain. He is still the former Cobra Kai champion who instinctively responds to conflict with force, but he is also trying to become a dependable partner and father.

Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene
Robby is Miyagi-Do’s male captain and one of Part 2’s central fighters. His performance is affected by the emotional strain surrounding Tory, who returns to Cobra Kai after her mother’s death. That personal conflict follows him into the Sekai Taikai, where he is tested by both Kwon and Iron Dragons captain Axel.
Robby’s place in the team reflects the series’ larger theme of redemption. He has moved from Johnny’s estranged son and Cobra Kai student to a Miyagi-Do leader, but his old anger and insecurity remain easy for rivals to exploit.
Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz
Miguel is one of Miyagi-Do’s strongest students and a key member of its tournament lineup. Part 2 places him under the pressure of international competition while he balances loyalty to his teammates with his own rivalry and ambitions. His relationship with Robby is especially important: the two have moved beyond their earlier feud, but competition can still expose old tensions.
Be careful with later-season summaries: Miguel’s eventual result against Axel belongs to Part 3, not Part 2.

Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso
Sam is Daniel and Amanda’s daughter and Miyagi-Do’s female captain. She is caught between the practical demands of competition and the personal damage caused by the conflict with Tory. Their relationship is one of Part 2’s most important emotional threads, because both fighters are forced to decide whether rivalry must define them.
Sam also represents the pressure of carrying the LaRusso name. She understands Miyagi-Do’s ideals, but the tournament repeatedly challenges the assumption that restraint and compassion will be rewarded.
Peyton List as Tory Nichols
Tory returns to the Cobra Kai side of the Sekai Taikai after her mother’s death and her break with Miyagi-Do. Her choice is driven by grief, anger, and a belief that Cobra Kai offers a more direct way to fight through pain. It immediately damages her relationship with Robby and reopens the conflict with Sam.
At the tournament, Tory becomes a principal rival for Iron Dragons captain Zara. However, Part 2 ends before that rivalry receives its final resolution. Tory’s later victory over Zara occurs in Part 3 and should not be listed as a Part 2 event.
Jacob Bertrand as Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz
Hawk competes for Miyagi-Do alongside Demetri. His history as an aggressive Cobra Kai fighter still shapes how he understands strength, loyalty, and rivalry. Part 2 continues the competitive tension between Hawk and Demetri while placing their friendship under the strain of a high-pressure team environment.
Gianni DeCenzo as Demetri
Demetri remains Hawk’s best friend and one of Miyagi-Do’s competitors. He brings a more analytical personality to the team, but the Sekai Taikai does not allow him to stay safely outside the action. His rivalry with Hawk is less about hatred than about two friends trying to prove themselves on the same stage.
Oona O’Brien as Devon Lee
Devon is part of the younger Miyagi-Do group and remains ambitious, competitive, and willing to take risks. She appears in the team’s training and tournament material with Sam, Hawk, Demetri, and Miguel. Her presence helps show that Miyagi-Do’s future is no longer limited to the original students.
Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny Payne
Kenny remains connected to the wider student conflict through his history with Cobra Kai and his relationship with Shawn. Although the selected Sekai Taikai fighters receive most of Part 2’s competitive focus, Kenny’s past continues to affect how he fits into Miyagi-Do.

Griffin Santopietro as Anthony LaRusso
Anthony is Daniel and Amanda’s son and Sam’s younger brother. He remains part of the LaRusso family and the broader student ensemble, but Part 2 concentrates primarily on the fighters chosen for the Sekai Taikai rather than giving Anthony a central tournament storyline.
Adult rivals, mentors, and tournament figures
Martin Kove as John Kreese
Kreese continues pursuing his version of Cobra Kai while maintaining his connection to Tory and Kim Da-Eun. His vendetta against Terry Silver becomes especially dangerous in Part 2. Kreese stalks Silver with a knife, and that weapon later becomes a crucial part of the Episode 10 catastrophe.
Kwon finds Kreese’s discarded knife during the brawl. Kwon’s death is not the result of a normal Sekai Taikai match: he is fatally impaled during the uncontrolled fight and fall. That distinction matters because the tournament is suspended in response to the violence.
Alicia Hannah-Kim as Kim Da-Eun
Kim Da-Eun is the Korean Cobra Kai sensei and the keeper of the severe training philosophy associated with her family. She oversees Kwon and Yoon and becomes Tory’s sensei after Tory rejoins Cobra Kai. Kim’s methods contrast sharply with Miyagi-Do’s emphasis on balance and defense.

Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver
Silver returns after appearing to be defeated in Season 5. Rather than simply reclaiming Cobra Kai, he recruits Sensei Wolf to lead a new international power: Iron Dragons. Silver offers to pay Wolf’s debts and restore ownership of the dojo in exchange for a campaign designed to make Iron Dragons the world’s top team.
His return expands the conflict beyond the old Cobra Kai–Miyagi-Do rivalry. Silver’s resources and willingness to build a stronger rival dojo make Iron Dragons an immediate threat at the Sekai Taikai.
Lewis Tan as Sensei Wolf
Wolf is the intimidating sensei of Iron Dragons and Silver’s chosen instrument. He leads a team that is already powerful when it enters the tournament, and his physical presence establishes Iron Dragons as more than a substitute for Silver’s old operation. Wolf becomes the adult face of the new threat confronting both Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai.
Yuji Okumoto as Chozen Toguchi
Chozen remains one of Daniel’s most important allies and a Miyagi-Do sensei. He contributes to the team’s preparation and supports the students as the adults struggle to maintain a unified coaching partnership. His history with Daniel gives him a distinctive understanding of how rivalry can evolve into loyalty.

Courtney Henggeler as Amanda LaRusso
Amanda is Daniel’s spouse and a stabilizing presence in the LaRusso family. She does not compete in the tournament, but she continues to provide practical perspective when the adults’ rivalries begin affecting their children. Her role helps keep the family consequences visible while Daniel and Johnny focus on coaching.
Vanessa Rubio as Carmen Diaz
Carmen is Miguel’s mother and Johnny’s partner. Her pregnancy gives Johnny a domestic storyline that runs parallel to the Sekai Taikai plot. She represents the life Johnny is trying to build outside the dojo and the responsibilities that complicate his instinct to throw himself into every fight.

Patrick Luwis as Axel Kovačević
Axel is Iron Dragons’ male captain and one of the strongest young competitors introduced in the final season. He is positioned as a major physical threat to Robby and Miyagi-Do. His training with Wolf emphasizes the gap between ordinary tournament skill and the elite level Iron Dragons brings to Spain.
Rayna Vallandingham as Zara Malik
Zara is Iron Dragons’ female captain. She is both a highly accomplished fighter and a publicly charismatic figure, making her the natural female face of Silver’s dojo. Her rivalry with Tory drives much of the tournament’s women’s competition, although its final outcome is shown only in Part 3.

Kwon is a Korean Cobra Kai fighter trained under Kim Da-Eun. Aggressive and charismatic, he becomes one of Robby’s most significant rivals and a major source of tension inside the Korean Cobra Kai group.
Kwon’s story ends in Episode 10. During the brawl triggered by the drug-test scandal, he grabs Kreese’s discarded knife. In the ensuing chaos, he falls onto it and dies. The death occurs during an uncontrolled melee—not during a scored match—and changes the tournament’s status immediately.
Daniel Kim as Yoon
Yoon is another Korean Cobra Kai competitor associated with Kim Da-Eun and Kwon. He appears with the Korean Cobra Kai group and helps represent the faction’s disciplined but ruthless tournament presence.
Carsten Norgaard as Gunther Braun
Gunther is the Sekai Taikai host and tournament authority. He addresses the competitors and becomes involved in the event’s response when the drug-test scandal and the brawl disrupt the competition. His position makes him the central official trying to contain a tournament that has moved far beyond sporting rivalry.

Which dojo is each character in?
| Faction | Main characters | What it represents in Part 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Miyagi-Do | Daniel, Johnny, Chozen, Sam, Robby, Miguel, Hawk, Demetri, Devon, and Kenny | The unified but imperfect team trying to preserve Miyagi-Do’s principles at the Sekai Taikai |
| Korean Cobra Kai | Kreese, Kim Da-Eun, Tory, Kwon, and Yoon | A ruthless faction shaped by Kreese’s vendetta and Kim’s severe training philosophy |
| Iron Dragons | Silver, Wolf, Axel, and Zara | A powerful new international dojo built to dominate the tournament |
| Tournament authorities and opposing dojos | Gunther Braun and Udar Tigra’s Ivanov | The official structure and scandal that collapse into the Episode 10 brawl |
What happens at the end of Part 2?
- Miyagi-Do competes in Spain. Daniel, Johnny, and the selected students enter the Sekai Taikai, where team competition intensifies the rivalries among Robby, Tory, Sam, Kwon, Axel, and Zara.
- Tory’s return changes the team dynamic. Her grief-driven move back to Cobra Kai separates her from Robby and Sam and turns a former alliance into a tournament conflict.
- Iron Dragons emerges as a major power. Terry Silver supports Sensei Wolf and the captains Axel and Zara, creating a new threat that is distinct from Korean Cobra Kai.
- Udar Tigra is disqualified. Four Udar Tigra students fail performance-enhancing-drug tests, and the dojo is removed from the event.
- Ivanov attacks Gunther. The disgraced sensei’s attack turns the scandal into a physical confrontation.
- The tournament becomes an all-out brawl. Kreese’s knife enters the chaos after Kwon finds it. Kwon is fatally impaled during a fall, and the Sekai Taikai is suspended.
That is where Part 2 ends. It is not the series finale, and it does not provide the final tournament results. Miguel’s later outcome against Axel, Tory’s later result against Zara, and Johnny’s later confrontation with Wolf belong to Season 6, Part 3.
