The supported way to tidy up what appears in your history-like activity is to remove titles individually from the Continue Watching row. That removes the title from that row, but Disney does not say that it erases every underlying playback record, resets all episode progress, or completely changes your recommendations.
Remove a title from Disney+ Continue Watching
Use the instructions for the device on which you watch Disney+. The option can vary by device, and Disney says it is not available on every supported device yet.
On a computer using a web browser
- Go to DisneyPlus.com and sign in.
- On the home page, locate the Continue Watching row.
- Hover over the movie or show you want to remove.
- Select the Remove icon in the upper-right corner of the title tile.
- When the confirmation window appears, select Remove again.
The title should disappear from the Continue Watching row. Repeat these steps for each title you want to remove; Disney’s documented web procedure does not provide a bulk “remove all” option.
On an iPhone, iPad, or Android phone or tablet
- Open the Disney+ app and make sure the correct profile is active.
- Find the Continue Watching row on the home screen.
- Tap the three-dot menu to the right of the title.
- Select Remove.
- Tap Remove again to confirm.
If the title is not visible in Continue Watching, this control will not let you search for it as a separate history entry. It is an action on titles currently displayed in that row.

On a smart TV or other TV-connected device
Disney documents two possible methods, but the labels and availability depend on the device.
Method 1: From Continue Watching
- Open Disney+ and go to the Continue Watching row.
- Highlight the title you want to remove.
- Long-press the title using the remote.
- Select Remove.
Method 2: From the title’s Details page
- Open the movie or show’s title page.
- Look for the Remove icon on the right side of the Details page.
- Select it, then confirm by choosing Remove again.
Some TVs, streaming boxes, and game consoles may not show either option. Disney specifically notes that removal is not available on all supported devices, and the feature is unavailable for live events.
What removing a title actually does
Disney’s official instructions describe removing a title from Continue Watching. They do not promise a complete deletion of all viewing activity associated with your account or profile.
| What you want to change | What Disney’s documented controls indicate |
|---|---|
| Remove a movie or show from Continue Watching | Supported individually through the Remove control, where available. |
| Clear every title at once | No universal bulk-clear control is documented. |
| Erase all playback records from Disney’s systems | Not promised by the Continue Watching removal instructions. |
| Reset every episode’s watched position | Not promised. Removing a tile should not be described as a guaranteed progress reset. |
| Reset all personalized recommendations | Not promised by Disney’s removal instructions. |
| Remove a manually saved Watchlist title | Separate action. Continue Watching and Watchlist are different features. |
Disney’s official Continue Watching guidance should therefore be read narrowly: it explains how to remove the visible Continue Watching entry, not how to delete all account-level viewing data. Disney’s privacy materials also explain that it collects activity and playback information to support features such as resume, Continue Watching, and Watch Again. That is why a disappearing tile should not be presented as proof that every related record has been erased.

Continue Watching is not the same as your Watchlist
Continue Watching contains content Disney+ presents as available to resume, including shows or movies you started but did not finish. The Watchlist is for shows and movies you intentionally saved.
Removing a title from Continue Watching should not be described as removing it from your Watchlist. If you also want to delete the saved item, open the title or your Watchlist and use the separate Watchlist control provided by the app or website.
Likewise, removing a Continue Watching tile is not a documented way to reset Disney+ recommendations. Recommendations may use more than the titles currently visible in that row.

Check the active profile before removing anything
Disney+ personalization is normally profile-specific. Before deleting a Continue Watching entry, check the profile icon and switch to the profile that contains the unwanted title. Removing it while using another profile will not clean up the other profile’s row.
This matters especially on shared accounts. Disney’s privacy materials discuss separate profiles and personalized watch history, including profiles associated with Extra Members. If a profile is transferred, Disney says its watch history and settings can be retained. The practical lesson is simple: verify the profile first, and do not assume that changing profiles is the same as deleting account data.
Why Hulu content may appear in Disney+ Continue Watching
If your Disney+ profile is linked with Hulu, some Hulu viewing history may appear in Disney+ Continue Watching. Disney says that not all content necessarily carries over, so an unexpected title is not automatically evidence that somebody used Disney+ directly.
Check whether the profile is linked to Hulu before troubleshooting the entry. Disney’s guidance about linking profiles is available in its Hulu and Disney+ profile help article.
What to do if the Remove option is missing
- Try the website. Sign in at DisneyPlus.com using a supported browser and check the Continue Watching row there. Disney’s web instructions provide a direct removal path and may be easier to use than a TV interface.
- Update and restart the app. Install any available Disney+ app update, fully close the app, and reopen it. On a TV, restarting the device can also reload the account interface.
- Check for a live event. Disney says Remove from Continue Watching is unavailable for live events.
- Confirm the profile. Make sure you are looking at the profile where the title appears.
- Try the Details page. On some TV-connected devices, the Remove icon appears on the title’s Details page rather than directly in the Continue Watching row.
- Contact Disney+ support if the entry persists. If removal succeeds but the title returns, or if playback resumes incorrectly, report the behavior to Disney+ rather than treating cache clearing, reinstalling the app, or canceling the subscription as a guaranteed history-deletion method.
Clearing an app cache or reinstalling Disney+ may fix a display or sign-in problem, but Disney does not document either action as a complete deletion method for viewing history.
Canceling Disney+ does not delete your account
If your goal is to stop paying for Disney+, cancellation is a subscription action—not a complete account-deletion action. Disney’s cancellation guidance states that canceling a subscription does not delete the Disney+ account or the associated MyDisney account.
If your goal is broader removal of personal information, Disney handles that separately. For eligible U.S. users, the Disney Privacy Center describes processes for requesting access to, deletion of, or correction of personal information. Eligibility, available rights, verification requirements, and exceptions vary by jurisdiction and applicable law. This is a consequential privacy request, not a routine alternative to removing one Continue Watching tile.

The accurate answer in one sentence
You can remove individual titles from Disney+’s Continue Watching row, but Disney’s documented controls do not establish a universal way to clear all recently watched activity, playback records, progress markers, or recommendation signals in one step.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I clear my entire Disney+ viewing history at once?
Disney currently documents individual removal from Continue Watching, not a universal “clear all viewing history” control. You must remove visible titles individually, where the feature is supported.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Does removing a title from Continue Watching erase my watched history?
It removes the title from the Continue Watching row. Disney does not say that this erases every underlying playback record, resets all episode progress, or removes every recommendation signal.
Will removing a title from Continue Watching remove it from my Watchlist?
No. Continue Watching and Watchlist are separate features. A title you manually saved to your Watchlist requires a separate Watchlist removal action.
Why can’t I remove a live event from Continue Watching?
Disney says the Remove from Continue Watching feature is unavailable for live events.
Can I remove Disney+ history from my TV?
Some TV-connected devices support removal by long-pressing a title in Continue Watching or by selecting the Remove icon on the title’s Details page. Disney says the option is not available on every supported device, so try DisneyPlus.com if it is missing.
Does canceling Disney+ delete my viewing history and account?
No. Disney says canceling a subscription does not delete the Disney+ account or associated MyDisney account. Broader personal-information requests are handled separately through Disney’s privacy process, subject to eligibility and legal exceptions.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Use Remove on each unwanted title in Continue Watching. Treat that as a cleanup of the visible row—not as a guaranteed deletion of all Disney+ viewing data. For account-level privacy concerns, use Disney’s separate privacy-rights process rather than canceling your subscription.
