No one was sent home on Dancing With the Stars Dedication Night. Season 34’s Week 5 episode, broadcast Tuesday, October 14, 2025, ended with all 10 remaining couples declared safe. The judges’ scores and audience votes were carried into the following episode instead of producing an elimination.
The unusual result came during a tribute-themed episode in which contestants dedicated dances to important people in their lives. Several of those honorees also took part in the routines, adding to the emotional impact of the night.
Who was eliminated on Dedication Night?
Nobody. Although the results segment combined the judges’ scores with viewer voting as usual, the show announced a special no-elimination outcome. That meant even the couple with the lowest score remained in the competition, and the week’s results were rolled over to the next episode.

There were 10 couples left in the field. Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach finished at the top of the leaderboard, while Andy Richter and Emma Slater received the lowest score. Neither position directly determined an elimination because every couple was protected by the week’s format twist.
Dedication Night leaderboard and scores
The episode featured four judges rather than the usual three: Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and returning guest judge Kym Johnson-Herjavec. As a result, the maximum score was 40 points instead of 30.

Who had the highest score?
Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach earned the night’s highest score: 36 out of 40. Their contemporary routine to “Rewrite the Stars” was dedicated to Dylan’s half-sister Olivia. The song also carried a family connection because it was associated with Dylan’s brother Zac Efron in The Greatest Showman.
Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy and Robert Irwin and Witney Carson tied for second place with 35/40. Irwin’s routine honored his mother, Terri Irwin, and earned three 9s and one 8 from the panel.

Who received the lowest score?
Andy Richter and Emma Slater had the lowest score, receiving four 6s for a total of 24/40. Their salsa opened the show and was dedicated to Richter’s stepdaughter, Cornelia. Under an ordinary results-night format, that score would have put the couple in a vulnerable position, but Dedication Night did not send anyone home.
The most distinctive Dedication Night routines
The episode’s format gave the tributes a more direct role than a typical dedication episode. The people being honored participated in portions of several performances, turning some routines into shared appearances rather than conventional celebrity-and-professional dances.
Jordan Chiles’ Viennese waltz was performed with her father, Timothy, for much of the routine. Elaine Hendrix danced with Lisa Ann Walter, connecting the performance to their long friendship and shared history in The Parent Trap. Danielle Fishel’s jive paid tribute to William Daniels, a familiar figure from her Boy Meets World years.
Scott Hoying’s performance also included a major personal announcement: the episode revealed that he and his husband, Mark, were expecting a child. Hoying danced to “Parallel,” his own song, as a dedication to Mark.

The emotional subject matter did not mean technique was ignored. Guest judge Kym Johnson-Herjavec emphasized that a meaningful story still needed to be supported by fundamentals such as frame, posture, timing, and fluidity. That balance—personal feeling alongside ballroom execution—was central to the night’s judging.
Why were the scores out of 40?
Dedication Night had four judges: Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and Kym Johnson-Herjavec. Each judge could award up to 10 points, producing a maximum possible score of 40.
One recap displayed Dylan Efron’s total as “36/50” in one section, but that figure is inconsistent with the four-judge panel and the episode leaderboard. The correct score is 36/40, not 36/50.
What happened to the votes?
The show still used the regular combination of judges’ marks and audience voting for the week. However, because the episode had a no-elimination result, those scores and votes were not discarded. They carried forward and were expected to count toward the following episode’s results.

That distinction matters: Andy Richter and Emma Slater were last on the judges’ leaderboard, but they were not eliminated. Similarly, the top score did not automatically make Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach immune in the broader competition; the episode simply did not produce a departure.

What Dedication Night means for the competition
The immediate consequence was simple: all 10 couples returned with the competition unresolved. The following episode therefore carried extra importance because the audience votes and judges’ scores from Dedication Night were added to the next round rather than producing a standalone result.
In short, the night created a leaderboard without an elimination. Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach led with 36/40, Alix Earle and Robert Irwin tied at 35/40, and Andy Richter placed last with 24/40—but no contestant was sent home.
