Dispatch Season 2 has not been confirmed. AdHoc Studio has acknowledged that the game’s unexpected success made another season something it needed to consider, but the latest public evidence still does not show a greenlit sequel, production schedule, trailer, or release date.
The clearest update is a contrast between two public comments. In November 2025, shortly after Dispatch became a breakout hit, AdHoc co-founder Nick Herman said the studio would have to “at least think about” Season 2. In an April 30, 2026 interview, however, voice actors Travis Willingham and Laura Bailey said they had heard no plans or timeline for a possible sequel. That makes Season 2 a serious possibility—but not an announced project.
Dispatch Season 2 status: confirmed facts versus speculation

| Is Season 2 confirmed to be in production? | No public confirmation has been found. |
| Does it have a release date? | No. |
| Will Season 2 release in 2026? | There is no reliable evidence supporting that claim. |

Why AdHoc is considering a second season
Dispatch performed far beyond the usual expectations for a choice-driven episodic narrative game. According to Forbes, the game sold one million copies in its first ten days, reached roughly 130,000 concurrent Steam players, and had a 95% positive Steam review ratio at the time of the report. GameSpot also reported sales of one million copies in ten days and more than 131,000 concurrent Steam players.

- Advanced Connectivity Options: Supports Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax 2.4/5GHz), and Bluetooth 5.2 for reliable wireless and wired connectivity.
Those numbers explain the change in tone from uncertainty to active consideration. Before launch, another season would have been a risky commitment for a new studio and a new intellectual property. After the game’s commercial breakout, a continuation became a much more credible business and creative option. Herman’s comment describes a studio responding to unexpected demand, not announcing that development had begun.
The latest sequel update is less encouraging than the initial one
The most useful follow-up came from a ComicBook interview published April 30, 2026. Willingham, who voices Phenomaman, said he had not heard any plans or timeline for Dispatch 2. Bailey likewise discussed possible future stories enthusiastically, but the interview described the sequel as not officially announced.
That does not prove that AdHoc has done no internal planning. Studios can explore concepts, negotiate contracts, or begin early development without making anything public. It does establish that, by the latest cast interview, there was no publicly communicated production plan or schedule.
A May 2026 report reached the same broad conclusion: AdHoc had acknowledged that it was exploring another season but had not committed to production, a roadmap, or a release window. That report is useful corroboration, while the studio and cast comments remain the more important evidence.

The July 2026 Xbox release is the newest confirmed franchise news
The first season originally launched on PC and PlayStation 5 in October 2025 and concluded with its eighth episode in November. It later arrived on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in January 2026. The next scheduled expansion is Xbox.
According to Xbox Wire, the complete collection is scheduled to come to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud on July 29, 2026. Xbox’s release information lists a standard price of $29.99 and identifies the title as an Xbox Play Anywhere release; the availability and price should still be checked in the buyer’s region before purchase.
For Xbox players who want to start the story now, Dispatch on Xbox is the relevant platform version to watch for the July launch. The Xbox release is important because it introduces the completed first season to another large audience. It is not evidence that Season 2 has been approved.
The game follows Robert Robertson, formerly known as Mecha Man, as he manages a team of reformed villains while attempting to rebuild his destroyed mech suit. Its format combines cinematic, choice-driven scenes with a dispatch-management system: players assign members of the team to emergencies, and those choices can affect gameplay opportunities and the story that follows. That structure gives AdHoc several possible ways to continue the world, but it also means a second season would require substantial writing, performance recording, animation, and branching-content production.

Cast members have expressed interest in exploring several parts of the Dispatch universe. Their comments point to possible directions, not confirmed plans:

- The origins and histories of Malevola and Punch-Up.
- A possible Malevola and Sonar romance.
- Additional branches of the Superhero Dispatch Network.
- More seasons rather than a single follow-up, an idea Aaron Paul has also supported publicly.
These ideas are best understood as cast enthusiasm and fan-facing discussion. They do not demonstrate that scripts have been commissioned, that actors have signed new contracts, or that recording has started. The same distinction applies to online theories about an endless mode or other potential post-season features: unless AdHoc announces them, they remain speculation.
Could AdHoc’s Critical Role project affect Dispatch?
AdHoc is also working with Critical Role on a narrative-driven game set in the world of Exandria. In an official Critical Role announcement, the project was described as Critical Role’s first video game and as being early in development.
This is relevant because studios have finite staff and production capacity. Work on another major narrative game could affect how quickly AdHoc is able to pursue a new Dispatch season. But there is no evidence that the Critical Role project has displaced Season 2, that the projects cannot overlap, or that AdHoc has placed them in a formal release queue. The partnership should therefore be treated as context, not as an explanation for the sequel’s status.
AdHoc and Critical Role already have a promotional connection through an official Dispatch-inspired Critical Role one-shot sponsored by AdHoc. That demonstrates an established relationship, but it is not a Season 2 announcement.
Can you play Dispatch while waiting for Season 2?
Yes. The complete eight-episode first season is available on PC and PlayStation 5, with Switch and Switch 2 versions released in January 2026. Xbox versions are scheduled for July 29, 2026. If you are on PlayStation, check the official Dispatch for PlayStation 5 listing for the Standard and Digital Deluxe editions and current regional availability.
The game is a particularly reasonable choice for players interested in narrative games with meaningful decisions, workplace comedy, superhero characters, and replayable consequences. However, buying it should be based on the quality and length of the existing first season—not on an expectation that a sequel is guaranteed.

What would count as real Season 2 confirmation?
A genuine status change would normally come from one or more of the following:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- An announcement from AdHoc Studio or its publishing partner.
- A formal production statement naming the game or season.
- A trailer, teaser, store page, or platform announcement specifically identifying Season 2.
- Confirmed returning cast or recording information from the studio or representatives.
- A release window or platform list published through an official channel.
Sales milestones, actor hopes, social-media rumors, job listings, fan theories, and the Xbox launch do not independently meet that standard. Because sequel plans can change quickly, any new official announcement should supersede this status report.
Bottom line
Dispatch Season 2 is possible because the first season was a surprise hit, but it remains unconfirmed. AdHoc said in November 2025 that it needed to consider another season; by late April 2026, a prominent cast member still had not heard a plan or timeline. The July 29, 2026 Xbox release is the next concrete development for the franchise, not proof that a sequel is coming.
