What the answers mean
All six themed words are culinary mushroom terms, although they are not all taxonomically equivalent:
- Shiitake is an edible mushroom variety commonly used in cooking.
- Truffle refers to an edible underground fungus prized as a food.
- Cremini is a common culinary name for a type of cultivated mushroom.
- Button is another common cultivated mushroom variety.
- Oyster is an edible mushroom variety named for its oyster-like shape.
- Enoki is a long, thin mushroom widely used in East Asian cuisine.
