What happens in One Piece Chapter 1112?
Chapter 1112 resumes the Egghead escape after the previous break and immediately changes the Marines’ priorities. The Pacifista units that had been attacking the Marines have been neutralized, removing one of the government forces’ most urgent battlefield problems. The new objective is stopping Luffy, Jewelry Bonney, the Straw Hats, and the Giant Warrior Pirates from escaping the island.

Vegapunk granted Bonney the power to command the machines, and Nusjuro treats that decision as deliberate defiance even though Bonney is only twelve years old. At the same time, the Marines prepare to sink the giants’ ship, targeting the escape route that could carry the Straw Hats away from Egghead.

Franky and Bonney clear a path to the shore
At the northeastern shore, Franky defeats Vice Admiral Red King with his Strong Right. Bonney also wins her fight against Vice Admiral Pomsky by using her age-manipulation ability to turn the Vice Admiral into a child before kicking her away.
Those victories give the group a temporary opening toward the sea, but the arrival of the Five Elders prevents the situation from becoming a straightforward escape. Nusjuro reaches the area and cuts down one of the giants before confronting Bonney, Franky, and Atlas. The scene makes clear that defeating individual Vice Admirals is no longer enough: the group still has to survive an Elder whose power and regeneration appear to operate on an entirely different level.
Stussy’s sacrifice play
Inside the Labophase, Stussy makes a decision that could determine whether the Thousand Sunny gets away. She tells the injured Kaku that she will remain behind and deactivate the Frontier Dome at exactly the moment the Sunny attempts to escape.

Staying behind leaves her exposed to capture or death, and Nami understandably questions whether the crew can abandon her. Edison explains that the escape may not be possible otherwise. Stussy’s choice is therefore both a practical part of the plan and one of the chapter’s clearest acts of self-sacrifice.
The decision also gives Stussy’s long-running conflict with the World Government a meaningful consequence. She was created and trained as a government agent, but her actions on Egghead continue to place the Straw Hats and Vegapunk’s allies ahead of her own survival.
Edison proposes an almost impossible launch
The Thousand Sunny has been loaded and prepared for a Coup de Burst, but the crew faces a major technical problem: the Vegaforce-01 is not available to carry the ship safely out of the Labophase. Launching the Sunny without it could result in the ship crashing rather than reaching the sea.
Edison proposes forcing the escape anyway. His plan depends on breaking through the Frontier Dome and using precise timing, momentum, and the crew’s abilities to make the jump. It is less a conventional route than a calculated gamble built around the possibility that determination can create a miracle when every normal option has failed.

Edison moves ahead to put the plan into action, while the group near the Sunny has to prepare for the arrival of Saturn. The escape is consequently split between several simultaneous emergencies: Stussy must handle the barrier, Edison must make the launch possible, and the crew must keep the Elders away long enough to use the opening.
Luffy’s Gear 5 runs out against Ju Peter and Warcury
Luffy, Dorry, and Brogy are still trying to move through the island when Ju Peter attacks in his sandworm form. The Elder creates a powerful suction vortex that pulls the three of them backward and prevents them from advancing.
Luffy stops the suction in typically improvised fashion. He tears a building from the surrounding area and stuffs it into Ju Peter’s mouth, interrupting the vortex long enough for the group to move again. The maneuver is funny on the surface, but the situation quickly becomes more dangerous when Luffy’s Gear 5 wears off.
The food that previously restored Luffy’s energy has been exhausted, leaving him temporarily in his weakened old-man form. Brogy gives him the giants’ emergency food, hákarl. Luffy dislikes its smell but eats it, allowing him to recover enough strength to continue fighting.

Luffy attacks with Gomu Gomu no Red Roc, aiming for the Elder’s head. The blow does not meaningfully damage Warcury. Instead, Warcury’s head is so hard that Luffy injures his own hand on impact.
This is one of the chapter’s most important combat developments. Luffy has repeatedly overcome powerful opponents by combining Gear 5’s freedom with overwhelming attacks, but Chapter 1112 emphasizes that the Five Elders cannot simply be treated as another group of durable enemies. Warcury’s defense turns one of Luffy’s signature attacks back against him and reinforces how difficult a conventional victory will be.
The Five Elders surround the escape routes
By the middle and end of the chapter, the Elders have effectively compressed the battlefield around the Straw Hats’ escape options:

- Saturn climbs toward the Labophase and reaches the area near the Thousand Sunny, where Nami, Usopp, and Chopper are positioned.
- Nusjuro reaches the northeastern shore and confronts Bonney, Franky, and Atlas after cutting down one of the giants.
- Ju Peter uses his sandworm form and suction attack to hold back Luffy, Dorry, and Brogy.
- Warcury pursues the same group and proves resistant to Luffy’s Red Roc.
- Mars searches for the source of Vegapunk’s worldwide broadcast.
The chapter’s tension comes from this positioning. The crew is not waiting for a single fight to end; every possible route is being threatened by a different Elder while the escape plan depends on several actions occurring at precisely the right time.
Mars finds Vegapunk’s real broadcast transmitter
York leads Mars toward the room believed to be connected to Vegapunk’s broadcast. Mars destroys that room, but the message continues. This reveals that the apparent location was a decoy or at least not the true source of the transmission.
York explains that Vegapunk is using a newly developed transmission Den Den Mushi. Mars follows the signal into Punk Records and eventually finds the broadcast device. The discovery comes at the worst possible moment for Vegapunk’s allies: only one minute remains before the announcement is scheduled to begin.
Mars then notices an ominous gurgling presence above him. Chapter 1112 ends before the identity or nature of that presence is revealed.
What does the ending mean?
The ending is a countdown cliffhanger rather than the revelation chapter some readers may expect from the title’s spoiler discussion. Vegapunk’s message is still unrevealed. Mars has found the transmitter, but the chapter does not show whether he can stop the broadcast before the one-minute countdown expires.

The final pages establish four simultaneous stakes:
- The message is seconds from reaching the world. Mars has located the transmitter, but he may already be too late.
- The escape plan is not yet secure. Stussy must stay behind, and Edison is attempting to launch the Sunny without the Vegaforce-01.
- The Elders are controlling the battlefield. Saturn, Nusjuro, Ju Peter, and Warcury are positioned against different parts of the escape effort.
- The final threat above Mars is unknown. The strange gurgling sound creates the chapter’s last mystery without resolving it.
In narrative terms, Chapter 1112 functions as the setup immediately before Vegapunk’s announcement. It does not provide the content of the speech; it makes the reader wait while the government closes in on the one device capable of broadcasting it.
Cover story: Yamato’s pilgrimage continues
The cover continues the side story titled “Ogre Child Yamato’s Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage.” Yamato is continuing to travel around Wano after the events of the Wano Country arc.
In this installment, Kin’emon gives Yamato travel money and asks for one final favor. The cover story remains separate from the Egghead action, so it does not directly affect the Straw Hats’ escape or Vegapunk’s broadcast.
Is Chapter 1112 in Volume 110 or Volume 111?
Chapter 1112 is in One Piece Volume 110. Official Shueisha volume information places Chapters 1111 through 1121 in Volume 110. Readers searching for the collected edition should therefore look for Volume 110 rather than Volume 111.
For readers who prefer digital access, the official VIZ Chapter 1112 release is the appropriate English-language reference. Availability and subscription requirements can vary by region and service, so readers should check the official platform serving their location.

Chapter 1112 bottom line
“Hard Aspect” is an escalation chapter built around timing. The Straw Hats have a possible escape route, but Stussy may have to give her life to open it, Edison must make the Sunny’s dangerous launch work, and the Five Elders have surrounded the island’s key positions. Luffy can recover enough energy to fight, yet Warcury’s impenetrable head shows that brute force will not easily solve the crisis. Meanwhile, Mars reaches the broadcast transmitter with only one minute left—just before the chapter cuts away.
