Which manga volume covers Episode 20?
Episode 20 adapts material from around Chapters 41–43 of the manga, in the First-Class Mage Exam material collected in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Vol. 5. The chapter-to-episode mapping is useful for readers comparing the anime with the manga, but it should not be interpreted to mean that the entire volume is adapted in this one episode.
Readers who want to compare the exam arc with its source material can look for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Vol. 5. The official anime materials identify Volume 5 as part of the manga series, and the English publisher lists the corresponding paperback edition.
