New episodes of The Office did arrive on streaming on January 26, 2026—but they are not a new season, revival, or reunion. Peacock released The Office: Superfan Episodes, Season 9: extended versions of the sitcom’s original final-season episodes with deleted footage, recut scenes, longer character moments, and other material omitted from the NBC broadcasts.
That release came nearly 13 years after the original series finale aired in 2013. It also completed Peacock’s nine-season Superfan rollout, making the extended version of the entire series available through the service in the United States, subject to its current catalog and subscription terms.
What was released?
The Office: Superfan Episodes, Season 9 premiered exclusively on Peacock in the United States on January 26, 2026. It revisits the original Season 9 storyline in longer cuts rather than continuing the story after the finale.
The episodes still cover the events viewers know from the broadcast season: the release of the documentary, Jim and Pam’s marital strain, Dwight’s growing management ambitions, and Michael Scott’s appearance in the series finale. Michael’s return is not a newly filmed comeback; it remains part of the original finale’s story, now revisited through the Superfan format.

NBCUniversal described the collection as containing never-before-seen footage, re-cut scenes, and rare bonus moments from the existing series. Peacock’s listings use titles such as “New Guys (Extended Cut),” “Here Comes Treble (Extended Cut),” “The Boat (Extended Cut),” “The Whale (Extended Cut),” and “The Target (Extended Cut).”
So, is this a new season of The Office?
No. Nothing in this release indicates that NBC filmed a continuation, reunion season, or official revival of the sitcom. The most accurate description is newly released extended cuts of the original final season.
“New episodes” is understandable shorthand because the footage is newly available to viewers, but it can imply a new narrative. The story remains the same Season 9 story that originally concluded the series. What has changed is the amount and arrangement of material included in each episode.
The short version: Peacock added more Office to familiar episodes; it did not bring the characters back for a post-finale season.

What does “Superfan Episode” mean?
The Superfan editions reconstruct broadcast episodes with footage that was left out of their original television versions. Depending on the episode, that can mean additional jokes, longer conversations, alternate or recut sequences, and extra character beats.
They are therefore closer to extended editions than to deleted-scene compilations. The additional material is placed back into the episode, allowing familiar plots to unfold at greater length. The format is especially useful for longtime viewers who already know the broadcast cuts and want more time with the characters and subplots.
How much longer are the Season 9 episodes?
There is no single runtime that applies to every Superfan episode. Peacock’s Season 9 listings show several extended cuts running approximately 27 to 31 minutes, while many standard Season 9 episodes on the service run about 21 to 22 minutes.

Those differences are useful evidence that the episodes contain substantial added material, but they should not be treated as a promise that every episode has the same length or that every Superfan cut adds an identical number of minutes. Runtime can vary by episode and by the way a platform lists its catalog.

The original The Office finale aired in 2013. Season 9 Superfan Episodes arrived in January 2026, nearly 13 years after the sitcom left the air. The time reference describes the gap between the original conclusion and the release of the final batch of extended episodes—not the time since the show’s characters were last shown in a newly produced storyline.
Season 9 completes the Superfan project
Season 9 is the ninth and final Superfan season. Peacock had already released extended editions of the earlier seasons, and this final installment completes the project by covering the show’s last broadcast season.
That makes the release more significant than an ordinary batch of bonus episodes. Fans can now seek out the expanded treatment of the entire nine-season run, although the exact way Peacock displays the regular series and Superfan episodes can differ between catalog pages, searches, devices, and subscription listings.
Where can you watch the Season 9 Superfan Episodes?
In the United States, Season 9 Superfan Episodes premiered exclusively on Peacock. As of August 12, 2026, U.S. availability listings identify the extended season on Peacock Premium and Peacock Premium Plus. The standard series is also listed through some additional services and digital retailers, but availability is subject to change.
That date matters: streaming catalogs, subscription tiers, retailer listings, and regional rights are volatile. Viewers should check Peacock’s current search and catalog pages before subscribing, particularly because the regular broadcast episodes and Superfan editions may appear under different listings.
Outside the United States, availability may be different. The launch information establishes Peacock as the exclusive U.S. home at release, not a permanent worldwide streaming destination. A viewer in another country should check the local services and digital stores available in that territory.

Streaming versus owning the complete expanded collection
Viewers who only want to watch the new Season 9 cuts can use Peacock if the episodes remain available in their region and subscription tier. Those who want a purchased or physical option have another choice: Universal Pictures Home Entertainment released The Office: The Complete Series – Superfan Extended Episodes digitally and on Blu-ray on July 14, 2026.
The Blu-ray package covers Seasons 1–9 and contains 194 expanded episodes and more than 25 hours of footage that was unaired during the original television run. The U.S./Canada technical listing identifies a 30-disc set with a listed runtime of 101 hours and 20 minutes, English SDH subtitles, and English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. Its listed UPC is 191329289419.
For fans who want every Superfan season together, The Office Superfan Extended Episodes Blu-ray is the more directly relevant ownership option than a standard complete-series set. A standard DVD or Blu-ray collection contains the original broadcast versions and should not be assumed to include the expanded cuts.
Retailer pricing, stock, delivery dates, and regional availability can change, so those details should be checked at the point of purchase. The official home-media information confirms the set’s scope and technical specifications; it does not establish that the package includes every version of every historical edit or every deleted scene that may have circulated separately.
What longtime viewers should expect
- More of the original Season 9: The familiar plots are presented with additional footage and altered cuts.
- No post-finale continuation: The release does not explain what happened after the original finale through newly filmed scenes.
- No new Michael Scott storyline: Michael’s appearance is part of the original finale, not evidence of a newly produced comeback.
- Variable runtimes: Some extended cuts run several minutes longer than the standard episodes, but there is no uniform length.
- A completed collection: Season 9 is the final installment in Peacock’s nine-season Superfan rollout.
Should you watch the Superfan versions?
If you have never watched The Office, the standard versions remain the simplest way to experience the series as it originally aired. They preserve the familiar broadcast pacing and the version most viewers first saw.
If you have already watched the show several times, the Superfan cuts offer a different reason to return. The appeal is not a new ending or a major retcon; it is the chance to spend more time inside stories you already know. Season 9 is particularly suited to that approach because its extended material revisits the documentary finale, the Jim-and-Pam conflict, Dwight’s workplace ambitions, and the series’ closing emotional beats.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor a first-time viewer, the extended cuts may also be appealing, but they can make the already substantial series even longer. The choice is mainly between the original broadcast rhythm and a fuller version built for fans who want additional scenes.

The bottom line for fans searching for “new Office episodes”
The January 2026 release is real, but the wording needs a qualification. The Office has not been revived with newly filmed episodes. Peacock released the final set of Superfan Episodes: expanded versions of the original Season 9, with additional footage and recut material. It is the closest thing to “new” Office content available from the completed series, and it finishes the nine-season Superfan collection.
