Stranger Things Season 5 is complete. All five seasons, including the final season, are streaming on Netflix. Netflix released Season 5 in three parts: four episodes on November 26, 2025; three episodes on December 25, 2025; and the two-hour-five-minute finale on December 31, 2025. Each release went live at 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
There is no unreleased Season 5 chapter still waiting for a premiere. The next announced screen project is the animated series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, but Netflix has not announced a release date for it.
Where to watch Stranger Things Season 5
You can watch all five seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix’s official Stranger Things hub. Netflix identifies the series as a five-season, TV-14 title, and its January 2026 coverage confirms that every Season 5 episode, including the finale, is available to stream.
Season 5 is not being released weekly now. It finished its rollout in December 2025, so viewers starting the series today can watch the complete story without waiting for another episode.

| Volume 2 | Episodes 5–7 | December 25, 2025 | 5 p.m. Pacific Time |

When was the next chapter released?
If “the next chapter” means the next part of Season 5, the answer is December 25, 2025. That was Volume 2, containing three episodes.
The final chapter arrived six days later, on December 31, 2025, at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. As of August 12, 2026, no Season 5 episode remains unreleased. Netflix’s March 2026 guide describes the final season as having aired.
Was the finale shown in theaters?
Yes, but only as a limited fan-screening event—not as a permanent alternative to Netflix. Netflix arranged screenings of the finale in more than 500 theaters across the United States and Canada. They began on December 31, 2025, at the same time as the global Netflix launch and continued through January 1, 2026.

The finale had a listed runtime of 2 hours and 5 minutes. The event has ended, so current theater listings should not be confused with an ongoing theatrical release. Netflix’s finale theater guide also pointed fans toward Season 5 merchandise and other franchise experiences.

What Season 5 is about—without spoilers
The final season is set in the fall of 1987, after the opening of the Rifts has left Hawkins badly scarred. The central group is united around finding and killing Vecna, while the government has placed Hawkins under military quarantine and Eleven is being hunted again.
The approaching anniversary of Will Byers’s disappearance gives the season an intentionally circular sense of dread. That premise is enough to establish the stakes without revealing the ending. Readers who have finished the season can use Netflix’s official finale interviews, ending explainers, cast-outcome coverage, and music features for spoiler-heavy follow-up.
What comes after the final season?
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85
The clearest announced follow-up is Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, an animated series from showrunner Eric Robles and the Duffer Brothers. Netflix says it takes place during the winter of 1985, between Seasons 2 and 3. The original characters will face new monsters and a paranormal mystery.

It should therefore be described as an announced future project, not as a series with a confirmed premiere window.
Other Duffer projects are not new Stranger Things seasons
Netflix has also listed other projects connected to the Duffer Brothers’ Upside Down Pictures arrangement, including Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen and The Boroughs. Neither is a new season of Stranger Things, and neither should be presented as a direct continuation of the Hawkins storyline.
Netflix’s overview of the Duffers’ projects is available in its official announcement and project guide.
Ways to continue the franchise after Season 5
Collectibles and official merchandise
For a physical keepsake, fans can look for a Stranger Things Funko Pop or another clearly identified licensed collectible. Netflix’s finale coverage specifically references customizing a Funko Pop with Season 5 accessories. Character availability, licensing details, prices, and stock change frequently, so check the individual listing before buying rather than assuming every marketplace item is officially licensed.
Netflix also directs fans to official Stranger Things merchandise and the Netflix Shop, including Hawkins-themed products and Season 5-related goods. The assortment and availability are subject to change; use the official shop or a retailer with clear licensing information when possible.
The official companion book
Stranger Things: The Official Story Behind the Legendary Series is a deluxe companion book covering all five seasons. Netflix describes it as including a foreword from Matt and Ross Duffer, cast interviews, behind-the-scenes photography, scripts and commentary, creature concept art, storyboards, costume photography, and maps.
As reported by Netflix on June 30, 2026, the book was available exclusively from Target. That means it should not be treated as an Amazon product or assumed to be available from every book retailer without a fresh listing check.
The First Shadow on stage
The franchise also continues in live theater with Stranger Things: The First Shadow. Netflix’s official guide references productions on Broadway in New York and in London’s West End. This is a stage prequel experience rather than another streaming season. Dates, seats, locations, and ticket availability vary by market, so check the official production or venue listings for the city you intend to visit.
