The men’s 2025–26 Ashes is over. It was played in Australia from November 21, 2025, to January 8, 2026, and Australia won the five-Test series 4–1. There is no current live Ashes stream to watch, but you can still look for official highlights, match-centre coverage and selected archive videos.
For viewers in the United States, Willow was the official broadcaster during the series. It was a subscription service, not a free public stream. The clearest legal free live-video option was Australia’s 7plus service, which was intended for Australian audiences.
The quick answer by location
| Location | 2025–26 Ashes broadcaster or route | Was it free? |
|---|---|---|
| Australia | Channel Seven, 7plus, Foxtel and Kayo Sports | Channel Seven and 7plus provided the free-to-air route in Australia |
| United States and Canada | Willow | Full match coverage required a subscription |
| United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands | TNT Sports | Not a generally free full-match service |
| India and several South Asian territories | JioStar | Package and availability varied by territory |
| New Zealand | Sky NZ | Subscription and package rules applied |
| Other territories | Services including Pacific Aus TV, Cricbuzz, Rush Sports, SuperSport and YuppTV | Varied by country |
Rights and archive availability can change after a tournament ends. The table describes the official rights map for the original 2025–26 series, not a promise that every broadcaster still carries full replays.
Can you watch the Ashes for free now?
Not as a current live series: the final Test finished in Sydney on January 8, 2026. Your best legal free options now are official highlights, short clips, match reports, scorecards, interviews and audio, subject to regional availability and the length of each broadcaster’s archive window.

1. Check Cricket Australia’s Ashes coverage
Cricket Australia’s Ashes hub and match pages are the first places to check for Ashes highlights, wicket replays, interviews, reports and archive clips. The CA Live app also supplied live scores and match-centre updates during the series. These resources are useful for revisiting the decisive moments, but a highlight package is not the same as a complete ball-by-ball replay.
Archive video is particularly likely to change: a clip that was available during the rights period may later be shortened, moved or removed. Look for official Cricket Australia pages rather than search results promising an unrestricted “free full match.”
2. Check Willow’s free video section
Willow’s FAQ says that videos labelled “Premium Free” can be watched after registration, while full match streaming and premium coverage require a subscription. Willow also says it currently has no free trial. That makes its free clips and highlights worth checking, but it does not make the complete Ashes Tests free.
For a U.S. viewer trying to follow future Australian cricket or any remaining official archive coverage, Willow cricket streaming is the relevant official service. During the Ashes, Willow’s direct plans were listed at USD 9.99 per month or USD 79.99 per year in the research snapshot. Verify the price and catalogue before subscribing, because both are changeable and the 2025–26 series has ended.

3. Use free audio where it is available
Cricket Australia promoted ABC Radio, Triple M and SEN coverage in Australia, with BBC coverage for listeners in the United Kingdom. Cricket Australia’s Cricket Radio also offered a real-time audio stream advertised as having no delay to live play.
Do not assume that Cricket Radio is available everywhere. Cricket Australia’s match-preview information described worldwide availability except in South Asian countries, the United Kingdom and New Zealand, while the dedicated Cricket Radio page has emphasized Australian availability. Check the service from your own territory before relying on it.
What was the free live-video option?
For people physically watching from Australia, Cricket Australia stated that every ball was available free-to-air on Channel Seven and through the 7plus streaming platform. This was the strongest legitimate free live-video route during the series.
That does not mean 7plus was a universal free stream for viewers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or elsewhere. Streaming rights are territorial, and using a service outside its permitted region may be blocked or inconsistent with its terms. If you are outside Australia, check the broadcaster listed for your country instead of treating 7plus as a worldwide solution.

Where U.S. viewers could watch
The official U.S. answer for the 2025–26 men’s Ashes was Willow. Cricket Australia’s global TV guide listed Willow for the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa.
Willow supports viewing through the web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Samsung TV, Fire TV and Chromecast. Device compatibility only solves the screen or app question; it does not remove the subscription requirement. Willow’s distribution through television bundles can also vary, so readers should confirm that a current package includes Willow before signing up.
Optional television setup
If you already have a Willow subscription and need to put the service on a television, a Willow-compatible streaming device such as an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K may be useful. It is optional hardware, not a way to obtain free cricket or restore access to a concluded Ashes series.
There was no evidence in the supplied rights information of a free, unrestricted U.S. YouTube broadcast or a universal free Cricket Australia video feed. Be especially cautious with sites using “free Ashes stream” in their titles without identifying an official rights-holder. Such sites may expose visitors to intrusive advertising, tracking, malware or copyright infringement, and their links frequently stop working.

- Wireless 4K Display Adapter enables screen mirroring of photos, videos and documents from compatible devices to TVs, monitors and projectors for home, office and presentations.
- Dual Casting Modes: Direct Mirror and DLNA mode. Direct mode supports fast screen mirroring, DLNA mode works via router for stable extended use.
- Easy Plug & Play Setup: No app or Bluetooth required. Connect the adapter to your display and power it via USB port for quick setup.
- Dual-band 2.4G and 5G WiFi ensures stable screen mirroring for presentations, video and online meetings.
- Note: Some subscription-based video apps may be restricted due to copyright protection. 4K output depends on both source device and display capability.
- First Test: Perth Stadium, November 21–25, 2025.
- Second Test: The Gabba, Brisbane, December 4–8, 2025. This was a day-night Test.
- Third Test: Adelaide Oval, December 17–21, 2025.
- Fourth Test: Melbourne Cricket Ground, December 26–30, 2025.
- Fifth Test: Sydney Cricket Ground, January 4–8, 2026.
Australia won the series 4–1. It won the first three Tests, giving it an unassailable 3–0 lead in Adelaide and securing the Ashes before the final match. England won the fourth Test at the MCG by four wickets. Australia then won the fifth Test in Sydney by five wickets.
How to find a legal replay or highlight
- Start with Cricket Australia: Search the official Ashes hub or the individual match page for highlights, reports, interviews and archive video.
- Check Willow: Look for videos explicitly marked “Premium Free.” Registration may still be required, and free clips should not be confused with full premium matches.
- Check your local rights-holder: Broadcasters sometimes retain highlights or replay packages after a live event, but the catalogue depends on territory and licence.
- Use official scorecards and audio: If video is unavailable, the CA Live match centre, reports and authorised radio coverage can provide a reliable way to revisit the match.
- Confirm the date and edition: Search results may mix the men’s 2025–26 Ashes with women’s Ashes coverage, older series or future fixtures.
What “free” should mean here
There are three different things a search result may call free:
- Free live video: During the series, this applied most clearly to Channel Seven and 7plus for Australian viewers.
- Free official clips: Highlights, wickets, interviews and selected Willow videos may be available without paying for a full subscription.
- Free score and audio coverage: Scorecards, reports and some radio streams can follow the action without a video subscription, although geographic restrictions may apply.
A free highlight is not evidence that the full Test is available free. Similarly, a streaming device, VPN, app download or registration does not turn a paid rights-holder into a free service.

The safest approach for future Ashes or Australian home-season coverage is to check Cricket Australia’s official global TV guide close to the event. Rights, prices, apps, free-trial policies and archive packages are all volatile. For the United States, check Willow’s current plan and supported platforms; for Australia, check Channel Seven and 7plus; elsewhere, use the broadcaster assigned to your territory.

Before publication or purchase, recheck three details: whether the Ashes replay you want is still in the catalogue, the current Willow price and free-trial policy, and the current geographic availability of Cricket Radio. The schedule and 4–1 result are historical facts; the availability of video and audio is not permanent.
