Bloom and Theroux had visited Hotel Esencia in February 2024 and decided it was the right setting for a quiet, secluded celebration. Wind forced the planned beach ceremony slightly inland, but Bloom still wanted guests to feel the sand beneath their feet and to be surrounded by palm trees. Her brother-in-law, Patrick McQuade, officiated. Bloom wore a custom Victoria Beckham dress for the ceremony, while Theroux wore Ralph Lauren.
