The film began streaming on Apple TV on December 12, 2025. It is also available to buy digitally through Apple TV Store, Amazon Video, and Fandango at Home. Physical DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD editions are available as well.
The original theatrical run has ended. Occasional repertory, awards-related, or special-event screenings may still appear in individual cities, so verify a real, date-specific showtime before buying tickets.

Is F1 The Movie in theaters right now?
The wide North American theatrical release began on June 27, 2025, following international screenings from June 25. By August 2026, that ordinary theatrical engagement is over.
A theater database may still show an F1 The Movie page, a watchlist button, or a generic ticket link. That does not prove the film is playing locally. AMC, Cinemark, Regal, and third-party ticket services can retain pages for past releases, limited engagements, or special programming. For example, Cinemark’s Oscars Movie Week listing documents a special screening rather than a permanent nationwide run.
To check your area:
- Open the website or app for Fandango, AMC, Cinemark, Regal, or a local theater.
- Search for the full title, F1 The Movie.
- Enter your ZIP code or city and select the exact date.
- Confirm that a current showtime, theater auditorium, and seat map are available.
- Check whether the presentation is standard, IMAX, Dolby, or a special event.
If an aggregator says tickets are available but the theater’s own page has no showtimes, treat the listing as stale or incomplete. Check the next seven days and look under special events, classic films, or awards programming. Do not travel based only on a generic “buy tickets” link. AMC’s film page and its showtimes page illustrate why the title page and actual local availability should be checked separately.

Where can I stream F1 The Movie?
Apple TV subscription
Apple’s U.S. title page currently lists F1 The Movie as included with Apple TV. The page shows seven days free for eligible users, then $12.99 per month. Confirm the offer on the sign-up screen because trial eligibility, promotions, taxes, and subscription terms can vary.
Apple TV is the name of the subscription service. The Apple TV app is the application used to watch it, while Apple TV 4K is Apple’s streaming hardware. These are different things: you need an Apple Account and an eligible subscription, but you do not need Apple hardware.
Apple lists support for Apple devices, Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio, TCL, Hisense, Panasonic, and Philips smart TVs; Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast, Android TV, and Nvidia Shield devices; PlayStation and Xbox consoles; selected cable boxes; Android phones and tablets; and Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge browsers. Support can vary by model, software version, region, and connection. See Apple’s official viewing guide for the current list.
Apple TV through Prime Video
Amazon also offers Apple TV as a paid Prime Video channel. This is a separate Apple TV channel subscription. It is not included automatically with an ordinary Amazon Prime membership.

How much does F1 The Movie cost?
Prices change by retailer and can conflict between an aggregator and the retailer’s own checkout page. The following figures are U.S. prices checked on August 10, 2026:
| Option | Price or status | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Apple TV subscription | Seven-day trial for eligible users, then $12.99/month | A recurring subscription; confirm eligibility and cancellation terms. |
| Digital purchase | JustWatch listed at least one offer for $14.99 | Retailer pricing and included features may differ. |
| Amazon Video Store | Amazon’s guide lists $19.99 to rent or $24.99 to buy | Amazon says rentals provide 30 days to start and 48 hours to finish. |
| DVD, Blu-ray, or 4K UHD | Available; prices and stock vary | Physical editions are sold by multiple retailers. |
| Free legal streaming | None listed in JustWatch’s U.S. snapshot | An eligible Apple TV trial is not the same as a permanently free movie. |
Because JustWatch showed a $14.99 purchase offer while Amazon’s own guide showed different transaction prices, check the exact retailer page immediately before paying. The JustWatch U.S. listing is useful for comparison, but the final price at checkout is the controlling one.
Can I rent F1 The Movie without subscribing to Apple TV?
Yes, if you choose a digital rental from a transactional retailer. Amazon says customers do not need a Prime membership to rent or buy store titles, and an Apple TV subscription is not required for an Amazon Video Store transaction.
Be careful when selecting the viewing option. A subscription stream, a digital rental, a digital purchase, and an Apple TV channel subscription are separate products with separate billing rules. On the title page, confirm whether the button says subscription, rent, or buy before completing the transaction.
Where can I buy F1 The Movie digitally?
Current U.S. listings surface these digital retailers:
- Apple TV Store
- Amazon Video or the Prime Video Store
- Fandango at Home
- YouTube Movies, where available on the publication date
JustWatch currently lists Amazon Video, Apple TV Store, and Fandango at Home as purchase sources. Other services, including YouTube Movies, may display different availability by account or region. Use the retailer’s own title page for the final price, resolution, subtitles, audio tracks, and purchase terms.
A digital “purchase” is licensed, account-based access. It is not identical to owning a physical copy, and access can depend on the retailer account, device compatibility, region, and the continuing availability of the license.

Is F1 The Movie available on DVD, Blu-ray, or 4K?
Yes. The home-media release date was October 7, 2025, with DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD editions. Retail and catalog listings identify the release as a Warner Home Video product. Current listings also show DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD purchase options, although prices and inventory change.

Digital-copy redemption terms can differ by exact product SKU. Some retailer listings indicate Apple-based redemption rather than Movies Anywhere, so check the packaging and the specific retailer listing before buying.
See the Target product listing and Barnes & Noble release listing for product-level details.
Which way is best?
| Your situation | Best starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One viewing | Compare a digital rental | It may cost less than a full monthly subscription, depending on the retailer. |
| You are eligible for the Apple TV trial | Apple TV subscription | You can watch the film and other Apple Originals during the trial period. |
| You want repeat access | Digital purchase or disc | You avoid depending on an active Apple TV subscription. |
| You want live F1 as well | Apple TV subscription in the U.S. | Apple says its U.S. subscription includes every 2026 Grand Prix, practice, qualifying, and race. |
| You want the biggest-screen experience | Verify a local IMAX or special screening | Large-format screenings may appear locally, but the IMAX film page is not proof of current showtimes. |
How to watch it on Apple TV
- Open the Apple TV app on your television, streaming device, console, phone, tablet, or computer, or visit tv.apple.com.
- Search for F1 The Movie, not just “F1.” A broad search may surface live races or unrelated Formula 1 programming.
- Sign in with your Apple Account.
- Select the Apple TV subscription or start the trial shown for your account, if eligible.
- Open the movie’s title page and press play.
How to watch it through Amazon
There are two separate routes:
- Apple TV channel: Add the paid Apple TV subscription inside Prime Video and watch through Amazon’s interface.
- Prime Video Store: Search for the film and choose rent or buy. Amazon says a Prime membership is not required for these store transactions.
Do not assume that seeing the movie inside Prime Video means it is included with Prime. Amazon distinguishes included Prime programming, third-party channel subscriptions, and transactional rentals or purchases. Its Prime Video guide explains these categories.

Runtime, rating, and what the film is
F1 The Movie is a 2025 action drama directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Brad Pitt as fictional driver Sonny Hayes. The story follows Hayes as he returns to Formula 1 to help the struggling APXGP team and mentor rookie Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris.
Apple lists the runtime as 2 hours 35 minutes. Some databases display 156 minutes, a one-minute metadata or rounding difference. The film is rated PG-13 for strong language and action. Apple’s title page provides the current rating and runtime metadata.

Is this the same as watching live Formula 1?
No. F1 The Movie is a fictional feature film. It is not a live race, race replay, or Formula 1 documentary.
In the U.S., Apple TV also became the home of live Formula 1 coverage in 2026. Apple says the subscription includes every Grand Prix, practice session, qualifying session, and race, but that sports offering is separate from the film’s title page and story. For live coverage, use Apple’s Formula 1 viewing page.
What about Netflix, Hulu, Max, or a permanently free option?
As of the August 10, 2026 U.S. availability check, JustWatch listed Apple TV subscription streaming and digital purchase sources, but no free legal streaming option. It also did not list the film on Netflix, Hulu, or Max in that snapshot. Streaming rights change, so readers outside the U.S. should check their local Apple TV and retailer pages rather than assuming U.S. availability applies worldwide.
The Apple TV trial should be described as “available during an eligible trial,” not simply “free.” It is normally a recurring subscription that may renew at $12.99 per month unless canceled under the applicable terms.
Bottom line
For U.S. viewers, the simplest option is Apple TV: F1 The Movie is streaming now, with Apple listing seven days free for eligible users and then $12.99 per month. For a single viewing, compare the current rental prices at Amazon Video and other stores. For repeat viewing, choose a digital purchase or physical disc. The regular theatrical run is over, but a local special or repertory screening may still be possible—verify the actual showtime and seat map first.
