Yes. Warner Bros. showed the first teaser after a CinemaCon presentation in April 2026. A fuller official trailer arrived on June 24, 2026. The official Warner Bros. movie site hosts the studio’s current trailer and synopsis. An official YouTube version is also available here.

The teaser mainly confirmed the return of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as the Owens sisters. The June trailer reveals considerably more: Sally’s grown daughters, Kylie and Antonia, have inherited the family’s complicated history; Kylie’s romantic interest is involved in a devastating accident; and Kylie decides to confront or break the Owens family curse herself. Sally and Gillian then pursue her as the situation becomes dangerous.
Search results also contain fan-made, concept and AI-generated videos labeled as trailers. Those are not additional Warner Bros. previews. The June 24 studio trailer is the relevant official source for the movie’s current story details.
What is Practical Magic 2 about?
The official synopsis says that Sally and Gillian Owens must confront a dark curse threatening to unravel their family. The story expands the focus from the sisters to the next generation of Owens women, while keeping ancestral magic, family loyalty and the consequences of love at its center. How closely is the film based on The Book of Magic?
The Book of Magic is Alice Hoffman’s 2021 novel and the fourth and final book in her Practical Magic series. The 1998 film itself made substantial changes to Hoffman’s original Practical Magic novel, so the book is best understood as source material rather than a guaranteed screenplay outline.

Lee Pace’s name, Ian Wright, appears in some secondary databases and listings, but Warner Bros.’ official materials describe him more generally as a scholar of the craft. Until the studio publishes a fuller character list, “scholar of magic” is the safer description. The same caution applies to database-only role names such as a reported character for Solly McLeod. IMDb and similar databases can include provisional names, background performers and unverified additions; they should not be treated as the studio’s definitive principal-cast announcement.
Is Evan Rachel Wood returning?
No return for Evan Rachel Wood has been announced. Wood, who played the child version of Kylie in the 1998 film, said in a July 2026 statement that she was not asked to participate in the sequel, despite offering to return. That is Wood’s account, rather than a separate Warner Bros. casting announcement.
The sequel recasts the adult next-generation roles with Joey King as Kylie and Maisie Williams as Antonia. The current confirmed cast information should not be read as confirmation that every child performer from the original film is returning. Alexandra Artrip, who played young Antonia in the 1998 movie, is not among the announced returning principal cast.

Where was Practical Magic 2 filmed?
Principal photography took place in the United Kingdom. Production began in July 2025 and included Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire and locations around London. Nicole Kidman announced the wrap on September 13, 2025, meaning the movie has moved beyond filming and into post-production and marketing.

CinemaCon coverage also reported that the original Owens house was rebuilt on a studio set for the sequel. That detail should not be confused with a claim that the production returned to the original Washington location or that the rebuilt house is literally the same surviving structure.

Will Practical Magic 2 stream on Max?
