Visitors to the historic Terminal Bar in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood were treated to a unique and unforgettable experience. Established in the early 1940s, the bar remains a living testament to the vibrant culture of the past.
This iconic watering hole was featured in an Emmy award-winning documentary titled “Terminal Bar: A Portrait of a Drag Kingdom.” The film offers an intimate glimpse into the lives of drag performers who called Terminal Bar their home. Through vivid archival footage and interviews with drag queens, kings, and trans women, viewers can gain deeper insight into what it means to be part of this marginalized community at a time when LGBTQ rights were not yet accepted by mainstream society.
