The country is one of the largest producers of copper. While none of its mines make the top 10, Zambia has several of the top 20 mines in the world. The biggest mine in Zambia is the Sentinel mine, which produces more than 300 000 tons of copper per year. It is one of the most advanced open-pit copper mines in the world.
