On Turkey’s 100th anniversary, exiled journalist Can Dündar and writer Aslı Erdoğan reflect on a homeland marked by repression, eroded democracy, and curtailed freedoms. Their film highlights voices of resistance: lawyer Eren Keskin defending Kurds and LGBT people despite charges, Alevi activist Yeter Gültekin seeking justice for the Sivas massacre, and opposition MP Sezgin Tanrikulu pressing for Kurdish rights in parliament. Together, they embody the perilous yet persistent struggle to keep alive Atatürk’s vision of a democratic, secular republic.
