Southern California’s Sonoran Desert is home to the eccentric inhabitants of Slab City. This squatter community is a world away from modern civilization, with no running water, electricity, sewage system or trash pickup. Yet the so-called Slabbers embrace their freedom in a landscape dotted with broken trailers and old school buses. Some of their closest neighbors?
