Native American woman runs for Congress

Deb Haaland is a voice that represents struggle and hope. She is not only trying to make history as the first Native American woman in Congress, but her mission goes beyond that. In a world where policy and politics often feel bleak and demoralizing, Deb is an inspiration to many Americans who feel unheard and unseen.

Debut director Clare Richardson’s documentary captures Deb’s journey as she campaigns for a Democratic Congress seat in New Mexico. According to Deb, President Trump’s administration policies are unjust and hurtful to American families. Her message and stance against the President’s divisive politics have earned her both allies and adversaries even within her own Democratic Party. With the hope of becoming a beacon of change within Congress, Deb Haaland strives to reshape the political landscape and fight for marginalized communities.
