Fun fact: When the original Dune movie came out in 1984, it was considered the worst movie ever. Fast forward several years, and the new movie is among the best in the world.
The Dune movie follows Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding. He must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.
The main theme of Dune is Free Will and Fate. These two weigh heavily throughout the epic science fiction novel. And they also weigh heavily through the new movie.
The ruling government in the universe of Dune is the Imperium, ruled by the Emperor for 57 years at the start of the story. The title shows that the government is a monarchy system, where a single ruler who belongs to a certain family line is in power.
