This rare hiphop documentary from a British television company made in the early 90s features unseen interviews with Africa Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash, KRS 1 and Ice Cube.
These were the names that dominated the rap scene in the 1980s and 1990s. Afrika Bambaataa was an American DJ, rapper, and producer from New York, notable for releasing genre-defining tracks in the 1980s that influenced the development of hip hop culture.
In the 1990s, hardcore rap of New York and gangsta rap and G-funk of Los Angeles were the dominating trends.
Rap cemented its mainstream influence in 1990, when Ice Ice Baby, a track by Vanilla Ice became the first ever No.1 rap single on the Billboard Hot 100.
