Paramount+ renewed Dutton Ranch for Season 2 on June 24, 2026. The next season is in development, but Paramount has not announced a release date.
Dutton Ranch is the official title
The series is officially called Dutton Ranch, without “The.” Earlier reports used The Dutton Ranch and sometimes described the project as a possible Yellowstone Season 6. Neither description is current.
Dutton Ranch is a separate Paramount+ original series that continues the stories of Beth and Rip. It is not Season 6 of Yellowstone. The flagship series ended after five seasons, while Beth and Rip’s story continues under its own title.

The show should also not be confused with 6666, another project associated with the wider Yellowstone franchise. Dutton Ranch has its own characters, setting, ranch operation, and storyline.
What is Dutton Ranch about?
After the events of Yellowstone, Beth and Rip leave Montana and attempt to build a new life in South Texas. Their new undertaking involves a 7,000-acre ranch identified in Season 1 as Rio Paloma.
Carter, the young man Beth and Rip took under their care, travels with them. The couple must establish control of their new operation while confronting a wealthy and ruthless neighboring ranch owner determined to protect her empire.
The conflict centers on Beulah Jackson, the head of a powerful ranching operation. The season also brings the 10 Petal ranch into the story and gradually reveals that the dispute is connected to criminal activity, including drug smuggling from Mexico.
That gives the series a different physical setting from Yellowstone, but its central ingredients remain familiar: a contested ranch, competing claims to land and power, and Beth and Rip responding to threats with very different forms of intimidation.

Who created the series?
Chad Feehan created Dutton Ranch and served as the Season 1 showrunner. Taylor Sheridan is not the Season 1 showrunner. Sheridan and John Linson are credited with creating the original characters, and Sheridan serves as an executive producer.
Season 1 was produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Its executive producers included Sheridan, Linson, David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, and Keith Cox.

Where can you watch it?
All nine episodes of Dutton Ranch Season 1 are streaming on Paramount+. Paramount+ lists the series as available with both its Essential and Premium plans.
The season also aired on Paramount Network. The linear broadcast began on May 15, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with the first two episodes airing on the opening night and the remaining episodes broadcast weekly.

The show was filmed in several locations across North Texas, although the story is set in South Texas.
Spoilers: how Season 1 sets up Season 2
Season 1 ends with several major developments that define the next chapter:
- Carter is abducted by the Cartel.
- Beth and Rip discover that the 10 Petal Ranch is involved in smuggling drugs from Mexico.
- Rob-Will is killed in the finale.
- Oreana is pregnant.
- Joaquin’s father, drug lord Mariano Reyes, returns.
The expected central storyline for Season 2 is Beth and Rip’s attempt to recover Carter and confront the Cartel. Paramount has not yet released a complete official synopsis, so details beyond that setup remain unconfirmed.
