For a decade, Amanda Berry, Georgina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight were thought to be dead after they were kidnapped from the same area in Cleveland, Ohio. In May 2013 however, an extraordinary event unfolded when the trio were miraculously found alive; one of them accompanied with a six-year old daughter.
The man responsible for this ordeal is Ariel Castro, who has been charged with four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape and faces the possibility of capital punishment if prosecutors can prove he caused his victims to miscarry their unborn babies.
BBC’s Rick Edwards traveled to Seymour Avenue to talk to the neighbors and relatives of the accused in order to discover how these women could vanish off the face of the earth and remain prisoners for so long without anyone being aware.
Now you can join him as he examines all angles of this fascinating case in Cleveland Captives: What Really Happened? An incredible documentary featuring 3D graphics that reveals where the women were held captive inside Castro’s home and how he managed to keep them hidden from visitors for 10 years. As soon as you watch it you’ll get a deeper understanding into what led up to their disappearance as well as their miraculous rescue.
