PerthNow reported that Bukala walked in the Simone Pérèle runway show at the Boobalicious Ball, held at Crown Perth Grand Ballroom on June 29, 2019. The post-event article, published July 1, called it her catwalk debut. PerthNow’s event report also said the show opened with a Freddie Mercury impersonator accompanied by male dancers.
Who was Zofia Bukala at the time?
In its June 15 preview, PerthNow described Bukala as a Polish-born model signed to Vivien’s. The report said she had moved to Perth more than a year earlier to study music and drama at John Curtin College of the Arts. These are details reported in 2019, not a verified account of her present-day biography.
The preview said Bukala and Perth Glory player Chris Ikonomidis had been dating since March 2019. She told PerthNow: “Chris is definitely not the jealous type and he’s super excited for me and very proud of what I’m doing.” The same preview quoted her saying, “I’m definitely motivated to be my best, look my best on the day and work hard.” PerthNow’s preview published those comments ahead of the event.

What was the Boobalicious Ball?
PerthNow characterized the Ball as a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Care WA. Its July 1 coverage called the 2019 edition the 16th annual event and reported that more than 700 guests attended; that attendance figure was the outlet’s contemporaneous report, not an independently audited count.
Before the Ball, PerthNow reported that committee member and organiser Peta Evans expected the event to need a new naming-rights sponsor following the sale of adultshop.com. That was a comment about the 2019 event’s sponsorship at the time, not an update on the fundraiser’s current status.
