They’re not real.” CNA also reported that people close to her had believed the pictures and thought they had not received invitations.
Zendaya also used a joke to make the point. She showed a wedding scene from The Drama and said: “That was real footage. That was real, I was there.” The clip was a film scene, not footage of her own wedding.

What she addressed was the authenticity of the pictures and the people who were fooled by them. She did not address whether she had married. Her Kimmel remarks neither confirm nor deny a marriage.
Where the wedding rumor started
The speculation intensified after a March 2026 red-carpet interview with Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach. CNA reported him saying: “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.” That was a stylist’s public remark, not a statement from Zendaya at the time, and it is the line most often cited as the start of the rumor.

The images also spread widely on social media. The Guardian reported that the AI-generated wedding photos were liked by 10 million Instagram accounts. That figure is reported engagement. It is not a verified audience count, and it is not evidence that 10 million people believed the pictures. No source reviewed measures how many people were actually fooled.
What Tom Holland said in June
On June 16, 2026, reporting on Holland’s Esquire interview said he appeared to confirm the marriage. He was asked whether he had needed to contact other family members after the AI images circulated. He replied: “No, because they were all there.” He then added: “That’s all you’ll get on that.”

AP and The Guardian both characterized the answer as an apparent confirmation. The inference rests on his reply: the family being “all there” was read as meaning a wedding had taken place. Holland did not use the word “married” in the quoted exchange, and the phrasing above describes what the reporting concluded, not a direct statement.

Fake images can spread quickly and attract large engagement, but they are not proof of any ceremony. The Zendaya and Holland case shows the difference between a viral image, a stylist’s remark, and an actor’s indirect answer.
