JISOO and ZAYN’s “EYES CLOSED” is a collaborative single released on October 10, 2025, paired with a science-fiction music video in which the two characters wake aboard a spacecraft and fall for each other. The romance is the video’s fictional premise. None of the coverage reviewed establishes a real-life relationship between the two artists.
What the video shows
LOS40 describes the video as a science-fiction romance. The two artists wake aboard a spacecraft and move through its corridors accompanied by robots. The setting is isolated and quiet, which is what gives the story its tension: the only people in the frame are each other.
- Setting: a spacecraft, reported by LOS40 as the video’s only location.
- Companions: robots move through the corridors alongside the two characters.
- Atmosphere: isolated and science-fiction in tone.
- Comparison: LOS40 likens the isolated spaceship setting to the 2016 film Passengers. That comparison is the outlet’s own; it is not described as an influence cited by the video’s creators.
The premise is worth keeping separate from the artists themselves. Coverage treats the romance as a story told inside the video. Nothing reviewed describes JISOO and ZAYN as a couple outside it.
Release timeline
- October 5, 2025: Soompi first published its coverage of the collaboration. The article was updated as the release approached, so it reflects a chronology of updates rather than a single report from that day. The coverage does not pin the collaboration announcement to one specific date.
- Teaser: a video teaser followed the official announcement of the collaboration, ahead of release.
- October 10, 2025: Warner Records announced “EYES CLOSED” in a release dated that day, and the single and music video were reported released the same day.
- April 22, 2026: Soompi reported that the music video passed 100 million views on this date. That is a dated milestone, not the current view count.
How the song is framed
The song’s meaning comes from three different voices, and they should not be read as one. The table below separates them.

| Source | What it says about the song | Type of statement |
|---|---|---|
| Warner Records (release announcement, October 10, 2025) | Captures “the nervous anticipation and thrilling freefall of diving into new love without looking back”; the production is described as “expansive” and “genre-swirling” | Label copy, not a quotation from either artist |
| Warner Records (sound description in the same announcement) | Warm keys, acoustic guitar, bass synth, and a “gravity-free atmosphere” | Label-provided description, not an independent listening review |
| LOS40 | Reads the lyric as a romance between people whose histories make a relationship seem unlikely, who choose to fall in love anyway | Outlet interpretation |
The label’s announcement also quotes one lyric line: “The past can’t hurt us if we don’t look.” It is presented as the song’s own words, quoted in the release. The announcement attributes the description of the song to Warner Records rather than to an artist interview.
Readers searching for the song’s lyrics and meaning should keep these layers apart. The label supplies the framing of letting go of past romantic history, LOS40 supplies one reading of how the lyric plays out, and neither is an explanation from the artists.
