First make sure you have selected the transferred channel and have permission to manage its live settings. Then copy that channel’s current stream key from YouTube Studio and replace the saved key in your encoder. Check the server URL and protocol too: a correct key sent to the wrong ingest address can still fail.
Fix the key and encoder settings first
- Select the intended channel. In YouTube Studio, verify that you are working on the channel that was transferred and is supposed to receive the stream. A previously saved encoder profile may still contain settings for another channel.
- Open the stream settings. In YouTube Studio, go to Create → Go Live → Stream. Copy the current stream key for the intended stream from Live Control Room. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings.
- Replace the encoder’s saved key. Paste the copied value into the encoder’s Stream Key field, replacing the old value rather than relying on a previously loaded profile. YouTube recommends retrieving the key from Live Control Room and updating the encoder when an encoder reports an error. YouTube Help: Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream.
- Confirm the server URL. Set the encoder’s server to the Live server URL shown in Live Control Room. If the encoder is configured to use RTMPS, use the RTMPS URL shown there and confirm that the encoder supports RTMPS. Do not assume that an ordinary RTMP address is interchangeable with the RTMPS address. YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Run a brief test. Start the encoder and check Live Control Room for an incoming signal and any displayed error. If it still fails, work through the checks below rather than changing hardware or assuming the transfer destroyed the key.
Check whether your channel role allows key access
If you cannot see the stream key or change the live settings, check which Google Account is signed in and what role it has for the channel. YouTube says viewers cannot access the stream key, change stream settings, or go live. Owners and managers can manage live streams; only owners or managers can reset a key. Ask an appropriately authorized owner or manager to check or reset it if your role does not allow access. See YouTube Help: Migrate from Brand Account user access to channel permissions and YouTube Help: Add or remove access to your YouTube channel with channel permissions.
A reset is useful if the current key is unavailable or you need to replace it, but a reset also means the encoder must be updated with the newly generated key. Do not reset repeatedly without replacing the value in the encoder.
Understand the Brand Account transfer and permissions
YouTube’s documented Brand Account-to-Brand Account transfer process requires the Google Account completing the move to be the primary account owner. If the channel was using channel permissions, YouTube says it must be opted out of those permissions to complete the transfer; users with channel-permission access may need to be removed as directed in the transfer flow. The transfer and permissions rules can affect who can manage the channel after a move, which is why the signed-in account and role matter when accessing stream settings. YouTube Help: Move your YouTube channel from one Brand Account to another.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
YouTube’s guidance does not say that transferring a channel automatically invalidates its stream key. Treat the key, account role, and encoder configuration as separate checks. The official guidance also does not identify a separate procedure or different key format for Indian channels; the same channel-selection, access, and encoder checks apply.
If you use RTMPS, check the encrypted ingest settings
When the encoder is set to RTMPS, copy the RTMPS URL from Live Control Room and use it with the current key. Confirm that the encoder supports RTMPS. YouTube says a connection timeout can occur if the encoder does not support RTMPS; for a documented SSL error, it suggests trying port 443. Follow the encoder’s own field labels for the URL and port. YouTube Help: Encrypt your stream using RTMPS.

Check live-stream eligibility and limits
If the channel, role, key, and server settings are correct but streaming remains unavailable, verify the channel’s eligibility. YouTube’s getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. The same guidance lists platform limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These are checks to consider, not proof that any one limit caused your error. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
Troubleshoot by symptom
| What you see | What to check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot find or copy the key | Confirm the selected channel and the signed-in account’s role. | Ask a channel owner or manager to access the stream settings or reset the key if needed. |
| The encoder reports a key or connection error | Check for an old key or a saved profile belonging to another channel. | Copy the current key from Live Control Room and replace the encoder’s saved value. |
| The key looks current but no signal arrives | Check the server URL and whether the encoder is configured for RTMP or RTMPS. | Use the matching URL shown in Live Control Room; verify RTMPS support if applicable. |
| An SSL error appears with RTMPS | Check the RTMPS URL and encoder compatibility. | YouTube suggests trying port 443 for documented SSL errors. |
| A connection times out with RTMPS | The encoder may not support RTMPS. | Check its documentation or support resources for RTMPS support. |
| You are signing into YouTube inside third-party streaming software rather than entering a key | This is a software-specific login flow, not the stream-key setup described above. | YouTube directs users to the software provider’s support for login errors. |
For previous-stream reuse, YouTube notes that prior settings, including the key, may load. Check that any reused settings belong to the intended channel and match its current Live Control Room details. YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
