YouTube Says You’ve Reached Your Daily Live Streaming Limit: What to Do

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

If YouTube says “Daily live stream limit achieved,” your channel has reached its limit on creating live streams during a 24-hour period. YouTube’s advice is to try again in 24 hours. The error is about stream creation on your channel—not a camera, encoder, or internet connection fault—and YouTube does not publish a universal stream count or an exact reset time.

What the daily live stream limit means

YouTube says it limits how many live streams a channel can create in a 24-hour period. The message “Daily live stream limit achieved” means the channel has reached that limit. YouTube does not state a universal numeric quota in its live streaming error guidance, so there is no reliable public number of streams to use as a rule for every channel.

This is distinct from a failed stream caused by a bad connection or encoder setting: the notice concerns the channel’s ability to create another stream. Changing equipment or stream settings does not address the limit described by this message.

What to do when YouTube shows the message

  1. Wait 24 hours, then try creating the stream again. YouTube recommends trying again in 24 hours. Its public guidance does not explain how the 24-hour period is counted, so do not assume there is a precise reset time you can calculate from the moment the error appeared.
  2. Check your channel’s feature eligibility. In YouTube Studio, go to Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility. YouTube describes limited and higher daily limits for some features, depending on feature access. Its feature-access guidance does not give a specific stream quota for this error.
  3. Look for a separate restriction or notice. If you still cannot go live after waiting, check your channel status and notices for a policy or copyright restriction. YouTube says such issues can temporarily or permanently turn off live-streaming access. Review the applicable notice and follow the appeal or help route presented by YouTube; a restriction is not the same thing as the daily creation limit. See YouTube’s live-streaming restrictions guidance.
  4. Complete any relevant verification, but do not treat it as a guaranteed immediate override. Phone verification unlocks intermediate features. Advanced feature access requires phone verification plus sufficient channel history or identity verification. These eligibility steps may affect feature access, but YouTube does not say that completing them immediately clears a daily live-stream limit already reached. See YouTube’s feature eligibility explanation.

Tell a quota message from a channel restriction

What you see What it indicates Next step
“Daily live stream limit achieved” The channel has reached its allowed number of stream creations for a 24-hour period. The public guidance does not give a universal number. Wait 24 hours and try again.
Feature eligibility shows a limited daily limit Some feature limits depend on the channel’s access level. YouTube’s public guidance does not specify the exact stream count for this error. Review eligibility in YouTube Studio. If you have advanced access and hit a feature limit, YouTube says to wait 24 hours.
Live streaming stays disabled, or Studio shows a policy notice A policy-related restriction may be separate from the daily creation quota. YouTube lists Community Guidelines and copyright-related grounds among possible reasons for disabling live streaming. Review the channel notice and use the relevant YouTube help or appeal route.

Will a streaming service get around the limit?

No. The message is about how many live streams the channel can create, not whether your computer can keep an encoder running. A cloud service cannot remove or bypass a YouTube channel limit. Once YouTube allows the channel to create a stream again, a cloud service can help keep a permitted pre-recorded YouTube stream running without leaving a computer on.
