What’s actually slowing this PC down?

If YouTube Live shows “No data” after you start an automated playlist, first check whether the playlist is advancing and the encoder is producing audio and video. Then verify that the encoder is sending to the correct stream URL and key for the intended Live Control Room broadcast, and check the outbound connection. “No data” does not, by itself, prove that the playlist or its player has failed.
What “No data” means—and what it does not
YouTube’s Live Streaming API defines noData as having no information about the stream’s health. It does not identify the cause. The API reports stream receipt state separately: inactive means YouTube is not receiving data via the stream. These are distinct fields, so do not treat every waiting label as an exact synonym for a failed playlist or a disconnected encoder. YouTube Live Streaming API: liveStreams
An encoder can report that it is running or connected locally while YouTube is not receiving the expected feed. The label on the encoder is only one clue; check the intended broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room too.

-
Confirm the playlist is advancing
Check the automation player’s current item and queue. Confirm that a video is actively playing, playback has not paused, and the playlist has not reached the end. Look for a player error or a source that has become unavailable. The symptom alone does not identify a particular playlist product or prove that the queue stopped.

-
Check the encoder’s local output
Use the encoder’s preview or a local recording to confirm that both picture and sound are present. Check its error messages and CPU load. YouTube recommends checking encoder software and local output when troubleshooting stream quality, and says: “Make sure that you’re using the latest version of your encoder software.” YouTube Help: Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream
-
Verify the selected stream and broadcast in YouTube
Open Live Control Room for the scheduled broadcast you intend to run. Confirm that the encoder uses that stream’s configured ingest/server URL and stream key. A valid-looking encoder status does not establish that it is sending to the right destination or that YouTube is receiving data for the selected broadcast. Do not paste a key from another stream or substitute a guessed ingest URL.

Check the outbound internet connection
If the local output is healthy but YouTube is not receiving it, test the connection from the encoder’s location. YouTube advises checking outbound internet strength and contacting the ISP if the connection has problems. If possible, review the encoder’s connection or output log for disconnects and send errors. YouTube Help: Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream

If using RTMPS, verify the configured endpoint and port
Use the RTMPS server address supplied in the stream configuration, and check that the connection uses port 443 and the expected SSL setup. YouTube identifies an incorrect server name, port, or SSL configuration as a possible cause of connection errors. Do not replace the configured endpoint with one guessed from an example. Read stream status and health separately
If you have access to the stream status details, distinguish the stream’s receipt state—such as
active, inactive, orready—from its health status, which can includegood,ok,bad, ornoData. Review any reported configuration issue before changing bitrate, codec, or other encoder settings. The API’s field definitions are in YouTube’s liveStreams reference. -
Change one setting at a time
Before editing configuration, note the selected broadcast, ingest URL, stream key in use, encoder status, and any displayed error. Make one change, then check whether YouTube begins receiving the feed. There is no single reset procedure established for every encoder and playlist setup.

Use YouTube’s encoder list only as a selection aid
YouTube lists software options for live encoding, including software described for continuous streams of prerecorded video. That makes the category potentially relevant to playlist automation, but changing software is not a guaranteed fix for a no-data incident. Check whether an option supports your continuous or scheduled workflow, the ingest protocol you need, visible output diagnostics, and reliability controls before switching. YouTube’s list is not a controlled comparison of those tools. YouTube Help: Live streaming encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is to keep a prerecorded YouTube stream running continuously, StreamNeo is an alternative to managing a local computer and playlist encoder. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start your free first day.
