YouTube Live Redirect lets an eligible creator send viewers from an ended live stream or Premiere to a selected Premiere or another channel’s live stream. Set it up in YouTube Studio, choose a destination that suits your Hindi-speaking audience, and tell viewers what to expect: autoplay may move them there, but viewers with autoplay turned off must click Play.
What YouTube Live Redirect does
Live Redirect is a handoff configured by the creator. When the source stream or Premiere ends, YouTube can direct viewers to the destination selected in Studio. Destinations include a Premiere or a live stream on another channel. The feature does not select a Hindi destination for you or guarantee that every viewer will begin playback automatically.
YouTube calls the feature “लाइव रीडायरेक्ट” on its Hindi Help Center page. The essential setup and eligibility rules are the same as on the English page: How to use YouTube Live Redirect and YouTube पर लाइव रीडायरेक्ट की सुविधा इस्तेमाल करने का तरीका.
Who can send a redirect, and who can receive one?
Sender eligibility
YouTube Help says a creator sending a Live Redirect must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. This requirement concerns sending redirects; it is separate from general access to live streaming.

Permission from another channel
To send viewers to another channel’s live stream, that channel must allow redirects. Receiving creators can permit channels they subscribe to, all channels, or specific channels they approve. The specific-channel allowlist supports up to 100 channels and can be used alongside permission for subscribed channels. “All channels” cannot be combined with the other listed choices. YouTube says the subscribed-channel default depends on whether subscriptions are public or private.
The receiving channel controls permission; meeting the sender eligibility threshold does not override that setting.
General live-stream access is a separate rule
YouTube’s separate live streaming tips say that live streaming requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Those are general live-streaming requirements, not substitutes for the specific Live Redirect sender eligibility rules.

Set up a redirect from a live stream
- In YouTube Studio, open Content, then select the Live tab.
- Find the source stream, hover over it, and choose Edit.
- Open Customization, find Redirect, and choose Add.
- Select an eligible Premiere or search for another channel’s live stream. For a cross-channel live destination, make sure that channel permits the redirect.
- Check that the chosen destination is the one you intend to send viewers to. When the source stream ends, YouTube displays a confirmation that viewers will be redirected.
Studio labels and layout can change, so if a control has moved, look for the source stream’s customization and redirect settings. YouTube recommends setting up a destination Premiere before configuring the stream, so it is available to select.

You can also redirect viewers when a Premiere ends. In Studio, go to Content > Live, edit the Premiere, open Customization > Redirect > Add, then select another Premiere or another channel’s live stream. For a cross-channel live destination, the receiving channel must permit the redirect. YouTube’s setup instructions cover both stream and Premiere handoffs in its Live Redirect Help Center article.
Choose a destination that makes sense for a Hindi audience

YouTube’s documentation does not say that Live Redirect automatically matches the viewer’s language or chooses Hindi content. Choose the destination yourself. Before the source ends, name the next programme or channel plainly in Hindi, and tell viewers to wait a few seconds while the screen reloads.

What viewers experience when the source ends
YouTube says autoplay takes viewers to the selected destination when the source stream or Premiere ends. In a May 3, 2022 announcement, Jensen, a TeamYouTube Google Employee, put the behavior this way: “Once your live stream or Premiere ends (or you hit “End Stream” in LCR), autoplay will move your viewers to the stream or Premiere that you selected.” The same announcement states: “If your viewers have auto-play disabled they’ll have to click the play button.” See YouTube’s Live Redirect announcement.
The Help Center advises creators to tell viewers that the screen may take a few seconds to reload. If autoplay is disabled, viewers need to click Play. The official materials do not provide a device-by-device behavior guide or a measured success rate, so do not promise a seamless handoff or that every viewer will arrive.

Creator checklist before ending the stream
- Confirm the selected destination is correct and ready to receive viewers.
- For another channel’s live stream, confirm that the receiving creator has allowed the redirect.
- Tell viewers in Hindi what they will see next, naming the Premiere or destination channel.
- Ask viewers to wait a few seconds for the screen to reload.
- Do not promise automatic playback to people who have autoplay disabled; they will need to click Play.
Common problems and what to check
The destination channel’s live stream is unavailable to select
Check whether the receiving channel permits redirects to its live streams. Ask its creator to review the receiving controls in YouTube Studio. If they use specific-channel approval, they may need to add your channel to the allowlist.

The redirect option is unavailable
Check that the channel sending the redirect has more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Also confirm you are editing the source under Content > Live and looking under Customization > Redirect. General live-stream access rules are separate.
A viewer stays on the ended stream
Ask whether autoplay is disabled. YouTube says those viewers must click Play to continue to the selected destination. Also allow a few seconds for the screen to reload, as YouTube recommends.
Viewers land on a destination that does not suit them
Review the destination selected in the source’s Redirect settings and announce the handoff before ending the stream. YouTube does not document automatic Hindi-language matching; the creator needs to choose and describe a suitable destination.
