If your YouTube gaming rerun stops when the playlist reaches its final file, the playback source is the first thing to check. Turn on repeat for the file or the entire playlist, make sure the intended videos are included, and verify that your encoder keeps sending a feed. Playlist playback, the encoder connection, and YouTube’s live-event controls are separate parts of the setup, so check them separately.
1. Find which part of the setup stops
A typical rerun setup has three moving parts: a media source or playlist plays the recordings; an encoder sends that output to YouTube using a stream key and stream URL; and YouTube’s Live Control Room manages the live event. A playlist reaching its last item can stop playback without necessarily being the same thing as YouTube ending the event. Conversely, playback can continue while the encoder connection or live event has a problem.
Start by identifying what actually plays your files: a single-file media source, a playlist source, or another playback tool. Setting names and locations vary by software and version, so use the controls for that specific source rather than assuming every encoder handles playlists the same way.
2. Set the recording or playlist to repeat
If the rerun uses one recording
Enable the media source’s repeat or loop option so the same file starts again when it reaches the end. Watch the playback at the point where it previously stopped and confirm it begins again.

If the rerun uses multiple recordings
Enable repeat for the whole playlist, not merely for the currently selected file. Check that every recording you intend to include is present and that playback proceeds through the list and returns to the first item after the last one.
Looping is the direct fix when the source simply runs out of content. If you do not want the same material to repeat, the source instead needs another way to supply continuing content.

3. Check playback, encoder output, and YouTube independently
- Watch the source: Let playback run past the point where the last file used to end. Confirm that the media source continues or starts the playlist again.
- Check the encoder: Confirm that it still has video and audio to send and that its connection to YouTube remains active. YouTube’s setup uses a stream key and stream URL to connect the encoder to the service; see YouTube’s live stream settings guidance.
- Check the live event: If playback and encoder output continue but the event ends or loses its feed, inspect the event’s Live Control Room settings, including auto-start and auto-stop. These controls affect the event, separately from whether the local playlist is repeating.
- Observe the transition: Check what happens at the former stopping point in the source, encoder, and Live Control Room. This helps distinguish a playlist that stopped from a lost encoder feed or an event that ended.

4. If it still stops, gather details before changing settings

- The playback software and version.
- Whether the source is one file, a playlist, or another playback tool.
- Whether playback stops, the encoder loses its connection, or the YouTube event ends.
- The encoder log and YouTube stream-health status around the time of the failure.
