For a Valentine’s Day movie night, the four picks in BGR’s February 2023 list offer different kinds of romance: an adult best-friend comedy, two teen first-love stories, and a post-breakup comedy. The list was timed to the Netflix debut of Your Place or Mine on February 10, 2023—not published as a current release calendar. Netflix’s US romantic-comedies catalog listed all four when checked for this article, but availability varies by country and can change.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
Lara Jean’s private letters to the boys she has loved reach their recipients, throwing her quiet high-school life into upheaval. Lana Condor and Noah Centineo star. The film begins a trilogy adapted from Jenny Han’s young-adult novel series, making it the clearest pick here for anyone who also wants to read the story behind the movie.
The Kissing Booth
Elle’s first kiss leads to a romance with the most popular boy at school—and puts her friendship with his brother at risk. The 2018 film launches a trilogy adapted from a book series, so it suits a viewer looking for a teen romance with more installments.

The Incredible Jessica James
Jessica Williams plays a New York playwright recovering from a breakup who meets a divorced app designer on a blind date. It is the adult, post-breakup choice in the group, rather than a high-school romance or a best-friends story.
Why the two teen trilogies became Netflix favorites
In 2021, Netflix reported that each of the To All the Boys and The Kissing Booth trilogies had been watched by over 125 million households. Netflix also said 25% of those households watched all five films across both trilogies. These are Netflix’s reported franchise figures, not independently audited totals or a measure of all Netflix viewers.
