What happens to Coach Ben?
Ben has survived the group’s attempt to execute him, but he remains captive with a severed Achilles tendon. Akilah’s vision that he can lead them home is the reason the others spare him. Ben refuses food and asks Natalie to kill him. The group instead force-feeds him, keeping him alive against his wishes.

Natalie eventually grants Ben’s request and stabs him in the chest. His death is not presented as a clean triumph: Natalie carries the weight of the choice, while the group’s earlier coercion makes the scene part of the episode’s wider moral horror. Actor Steven Krueger, who plays Ben, called the death “an inflection point in the entire arc of the series” in an interview with TV Insider.
What happens after Ben dies?
That night, the Yellowjackets gather around a fire and eat Ben’s remains. Lottie says what they have done is wrong, then hears whispers and leads the group in a song. The gathering turns into a chaotic celebration, unsettlingly close to the kind of spectacle associated with a reality-TV reunion.

Two outsiders arrive and see the feast. The episode cuts off on their horrified reaction. It does not identify them, establish whether they can help the group, or show a rescue.
What does the tape mean in the present-day timeline?
After coming home, Shauna tells Jeff that Lottie is dead. Callie brings out a mysterious tape delivered earlier in the season. Shauna connects it to Lottie’s death, the apparent sabotage of her brakes, and her own confinement in a freezer. She concludes that someone may be targeting the survivors, and takes Jeff and Callie to a motel.
Those incidents lead Shauna to suspect a threat, but the episode does not prove that one person caused them all. The recording is an incriminating clue tied to the survivors’ wilderness past; its origin and full meaning remain unresolved here.
What clues does Misty find about Lottie’s death?
Misty follows an inconsistency in Lottie’s takeout trash to Bamboo Café, where she encounters Lisa, a former follower of Lottie. Lisa says Lottie gave her $50,000 with an apology note. She also says Taissa was outside the café on Lottie’s last visit. That places Taissa near a relevant event, but does not establish that she caused Lottie’s death.
Misty also sends Lottie’s fingernail test results to Walter because she cannot interpret them herself. The episode supplies no answer to the test’s meaning.

While looking for a DAT player to inspect the recording, Van hears a disturbing voice on a disconnected phone. Later, she sees Taissa wake in terror and then abruptly appear calm. These moments are eerie, but this episode does not confirm a supernatural explanation.
The closing song and screams echo the tape mystery, linking the wilderness violence to the adult survivors’ present without resolving what the recording contains or who is behind the apparent threats.
