The QR code shown during Bray Wyatt’s January 13, 2023 SmackDown segment opened a video in which Wyatt appeared in his Firefly Fun House presentation, said “Let Me In,” and was followed by a flash of The Fiend. It was a story tease, not confirmation of a specific match or return date.
What the January 13, 2023 QR code showed
A report published that night described the QR code as linking to a short video featuring Wyatt in his Firefly Fun House look. In the clip, he greeted the viewer, changed expression, said “Let Me In,” and The Fiend appeared on screen. ComicBook.com’s January 13, 2023 report covered the code and its video.
The imagery connected Wyatt’s then-current story to The Fiend, but the clip itself did not establish that the character would return in a particular match or on a particular date.
Why the August 2023 QR codes are easy to confuse with it
WWE used QR codes again during the August 25, 2023 SmackDown tribute to Wyatt. That was a separate sequence: six codes linked to highlights from his career, and the sixth led to his first promo after returning to WWE on October 14, 2022. ComicBook.com’s August 25, 2023 guide describes the tribute-show codes.

How this fits the earlier White Rabbit campaign
WWE’s account of Wyatt’s 2022 return describes clues and messages—including QR codes—appearing across programming before his reveal at Extreme Rules. WWE’s White Rabbit campaign recap provides that broader context. The January 2023 video continued the use of QR codes for Wyatt-related teases, but the 2022 campaign recap does not identify the January code’s destination.
