How strong is the evidence?
Professional wrestling blends scripted conflict with real workplace relationships. A sharp promo can serve a storyline, and a report of backstage friction does not by itself establish anyone’s private feelings. The examples below are best read as dated reports of tension, with the source and limits of each claim made clear.

- Executive account: Triple H’s comments about Punk and Reigns are the strongest recent account in this group, but they remain his description of what he observed.
- Participant account: Wes Barkley’s recollection of a Punk–Rollins brawl is a firsthand impression, not confirmation from either wrestler.
- Secondary reporting or interpretation: Claims about Rollins’s reasons and Ripley–Cargill tension need attribution to the reporting that made them.
- Public response: Logan Paul and Bron Breakker laughed off a rumor about themselves rather than confirming it.
CM Punk and Roman Reigns: Triple H says the tension continued backstage
In an interview with Joe Tessitore ahead of WrestleMania 42, reported by 411MANIA on April 14, 2026, WWE executive Triple H said of Punk and Reigns: “That intensity does not stop backstage.” He described tension when the two were near each other and said their exchanges did not feel like ordinary promotional trash talk. Those are Triple H’s characterizations, not independently established facts about either man’s state of mind. Read 411MANIA’s report.
TJR Wrestling traces part of their public history to Punk’s 2014 podcast comments that WWE wanted him to make Reigns look strong, and reports that Reigns later criticized Punk. That account does not identify a single cause or prove a private motive. Read TJR Wrestling’s feature.

CM Punk and Seth Rollins: a public disagreement with a workplace backstory
TJR Wrestling reports that Rollins criticized Punk after Punk left WWE in 2014, describing Rollins as feeling that Punk had abandoned the colleagues who stayed. The feature also says Rollins regarded Punk’s 2023 return as hypocritical and self-serving. These explanations are the feature’s account of Rollins’s public position; they should not be treated as proof of what either wrestler privately feels. Read the feature.
There is also a vivid account from an on-scene participant. Fightful reported on March 10, 2025, that independent wrestler Wes Barkley—part of the security group during a March 3 Raw brawl involving Punk and Rollins—recalled: “They hate each other. Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill: reported heat, not verified hatred
A March 2026 TJR Wrestling feature says Cargill’s comments about Ripley’s influence with WWE’s creative team reportedly caused backstage heat. It also interprets some of their promo exchanges as potentially reflecting more than storyline conflict, while acknowledging that wrestlers routinely insult one another to build a story. Because this case rests partly on reporting and interpretation of promos, it is weaker evidence of real-life animosity than Triple H’s account of Punk and Reigns. Read TJR Wrestling’s feature.

In August 2026, WrestleTalk reported that Paul and Breakker were asked together about a rumor of backstage friction. Breakker replied, “Jesus Christ. There’s some narrative every week.” Paul added, “Insane news to wake up to.” They laughed, and the report noted that they had been discussing hanging out after a show. What the reports establish—and what they don’t
These accounts offer different levels of support for claims of tension: an executive’s dated description for Punk and Reigns; public criticism plus a participant’s impression of a brawl for Punk and Rollins; and less conclusive reporting or promo interpretation for Ripley and Cargill. Paul and Breakker’s response points the other way. Together, they support a cautious conclusion that some WWE relationships have been reported as strained—not that the featured stars have been proven to hate each other. The sources span March 2025 to August 2026 and do not establish that every person remains on WWE’s roster or that any relationship is unchanged as of October 2026.
